You just made me feel worse..I just placed my order for the ratchets last week. Sounds like about a month lead time....weak...

Did Nepros email a trcking number once it shipped?

What did I get? One of everything! Well, not quite. I ordered a bunch of ratchets, nearly all their sockets, a handful of wrench sets, nearly all of their extensions, sliding T-handles, the wooden screwdriver set, the adjustable wrench (of course!), breaker bars, a whole mess of KTC (non-Nepros) stuff such as the socket sizes that Nepros doesn't come in, their thin wrench sets, screwdriver sets, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember. I can't wait to get it all. I've been waiting what seems like an eternity - actually about a month. It is due to arrive this Tuesday.

The thing that delayed it all - the only thing out of 88 pounds of tools - is the adjustable wrench. Apparently they are awfully popular in Japan. Otherwise it would have arrived in Minnesota 5 days after my order. Just today I was contacted by FedEx today because I needed to fill out a U.S. Customs import form for international shipments over a certain dollar amount. I hope it doesn't get stuck in red tape. Fingers crossed...

Oh, and yes, they certainly did email me the tracking info when it finally shipped.

While I am waiting for my Nepros tools, some other new tools have come in.

I prefer not to buy Chinese tools, but this one was too cool to pass up. Gearwrench tap wrench set. I do a lot of thread cutting, so this should come in handy. I must admit, the chrome is completely flawless.



And because the seller of the tap wrench set initially bungled my order, he threw in a free gift (I have no idea if it is a good one or not, but for free, how can you complain?):



And the piece de resistance - a new Extreme Professional toolbox to put my Nepros tools in. I will post more pictures if people have an interest in seeing them. Barely had time to unpack it today, should have more time to take pictures this weekend.

I spent some "shop you way rewards" points today at Sears, after a month of hassling to get them refunded and multiple phone calls, I got them back after cancelling an order. I also got hooked up with a few extra points too, which had to be spent by 4/23, so I spent them.

I bought a new drilling hammer and a set of long punches, both Cman and made in the USA.

I hit Craigslist pretty hard the past two days. No suckage, but I did get good deals on all of this.

Snap On 3/8" drive, deep and shallow, SAE and Metric. I didn't need all four sets, but the price was right!

SK 1/2" drive swivel impact. Missing 21mm.

This Starrett is in new condition. The model has been offshored to China recently but this one is made in USA. Now I've got one in the garage and one in the basement.

I always wanted one of these close quarters drills. The guy offering the caliper also had this, so I hit it.

Found a surplus gov. tool place while I was in San Antonio this week. Would of bought more, but my bag was overweight as it was.( flying)
First photo is a over all of what I found. 3 Brass hammers $ 10.00,5.00,3.00, a 1/2" long Proto $ 20.00 ratchet, a 3/8" Xl ratchet $ 8.00 ( needs ball & spring) Bessy welding clamp $ 5.00, needle, duck bill and cutters $ 2.00 & 3.00 a pair, Good putty knifes, some brand new $ .50 ea.,2 LED mag lights $ 4.00 each.
Mag light don't work, I'll look into them ,took a chance.
I took apart the 3/8 proto ratchet,noe ball or spring, or even parts of one. I think I can just order these. NIce rat.
They had tons of hammers cheap, dead blows, brass, ball peen.
They said they sold online. I'll get some info and post.

One of the nicest things was the blue point scraper $ .50. Never been used. I dug and dug trying to find more.

I bought these on ebay as a lot. The main thing I was after was the metric wrench set. wanted a good set as a secondary to my Cmans.
Both the wrench and Allen brand (usa) hexs were a complete set. Aslo has a few sets of bohdos allens, metric & SAE, 2 blackhawk rubber mallets, a Thor rawhide, and a 24 oz Vaughan mallet.
2 Kastar 1" X 1-1/16" ratchet wrenches, a martin spud wrench 1-1/8",
couple of Cman professional drivers, and some misc. items. All for $ 72.00

Not a tool, but I picked up the red box on the right at Sears Outlet for $50 today.

I had never seen them before, a little Craftsman box that originally I was going to use it as a stand alone box on the work bench for holding odds and ends, but when I got home I saw it came with the bracket to hang it off the side of a chest.

I will probably keep my outdoor lawn equipment spare parts, spark plugs, etc in it.

Also got the red plastic bin hanging on the left side at Northern Tool for $5 for holding some repair manuals.

That's the price for all 3. On the truck you buy the 1/2 and 1/4 and get the 3/8 for free, or at least that was what mine was.

I can't wait to start on my NICE tool collection this coming winter. All my HF/Craftsman stuff will be on the "loaner box."

Although if i must be honest, that green handle ratchet is kinda cool, the ratcheting screwdriver set FAR exceeds my expectations, and a pickle fork is a damn pickle fork.

But a lot of it is a comfort issue. Sure, a CM RP wrench will get the job done, but holy **** they feel terrible.

A lot of my desire for nice things stems from how OCD i am. I would like more matched sets, less hodgepodge.

Actually, I don't find RP's to be very good at all. The open end spreads easy, they are chunky, and the length is to short.

It is nice to have nice things. I simply mean if you like a specific tool, you shouldn't replace it because of who makes it. My Composite HF ratchets aren't going anywhere! They sit right next to my Snap-on...

New Cornwell truck toy. Inline cut off wheel by Astro.

$115, rated at 15,000RPM, 4CFM, and has a built in regulator! The main issue I have is it sends sparks right into your hand... Gotta adjust the shield... Out of the box it has a ton of torque, and is hard to really bog down. Hopefully it holds that power.

coincedently I stepped onto a Mac truck today for the first time. Guy kept referring to them as "the other guys" and was trying to impress me with some tools. In my mind I was like "okay". Seems like alot of there stuff is either rebranded or manufactured offshore. He hands me a 2011 catalogue and the new flyer. I left.

I am making my personal tools all MAC for sake I do not wrench like I used to, and there is finally a rep within 100 miles. Also warranty's anything I need. They have good tools just like the other trucks. Are they better? Matter of opinion, but they do have some that are, and some that aren't. You could say that about any tool truck brand though. I prefer MAC it is what I had growing up and what I bought at the dealership I worked at. I did buy and use snap on stuff as well, but not as much. My preference, and since it is all filling up a cart, I like it. I still have 2 other boxes full of both MAC and SO stuff.

I might consider their sockets after my recent purchase on some sockets didnt work out. they got a good deal in the Canadian flyer: buy 11pc metric socket set 3/8 for $120 and get a mini ratchet worth $69 for free
