Already posted that I picked up these up in buffalo, Removed the bulky handle from the matco ratchet, when exposed the shank is really slim and has a bit of agressive knurling. This is the second one that I have modified. Real tuff to remove, a lot of cutting using a dremel, but the end product is better. Should have left the handles off at the factory.

Finally! Got my Nepros ratchet set yesterday...

They feel very solid and have a VERY nice finish...almost too nice to use :)

Like someone said the ratcheting mechanism is nothing special...it just feels like a solid and well made tool..

Can't wait to give'em a try...

^^ why not see if u can remove the handle? I have done so on 2 matco ratchets and revealed some nice aggressive knurling, mind you that the ratchet had those fat bulky handles. Never done it on the new handles.

See my post on this page

Gawd awful looking rats. Are they super thin?

Nope. Same as any other brand as far as thicknesses concerned. 72 teeth quick release and better looking than my snappy.

The Non-NAPA wrenches are USA Kobalt and so is the bag of screw tips.

the 24 is a monster, its like 3/4 thick at the head Im pretty sure my arm would break before it

They are great but, be prepared to get friendly with your Matco guy. :( I have to swap these out for my customers all the time. In the past two months, I have had six or seven repaired. Some broke the drive, some stripped out the flex teeth, and one even broke the head off at the pin for the flex pivot.

It's going to happen though, if you use it as a tool.

I broke the pivot on mine, I'm a pretty big gut though, mine is a 60 tooth model.

Now the matco ratchet looks lil bit like a Nepros ratchet...and really an upgrade WITHOUT the handle...first I thought "Omg..." now...great handle, will not slip.

Small haul today. Nothing real cool, but did ok for the money i think.

Went to Wholesale Tool. Weird store. Tons of stuff, some things priced well, most of it priced terribly. Seas of cheap chinese **** with some nice stuff interspersed. Saw a big Wiha hammer (for $55, ugh), buncha SK tools, and some Waterloo boxes. There was a nice Waterloo workbench with a few drawers in it for $149 that i may go back and get. Seemed pretty solid. Only had 30 minutes to look around, only picked up the probe for 85 cents. Didn't have a small one like that.

Then went to the flea market. Didn't stick around real long, but there were some other booths i didn't take a good look at. Didn't see my old guy that usually has a TON of tools, so didn't bother.

Got:
Mac BWS7BF (not for a great price now that i look it up, but meh)
Great Neck 1/4 driver
Thorsen 11/16 combo wrench
Thorsen 9/16 and 1/2 wrench
Billings 1/2 combo wrench
Easco 5/8 combo wrench
Fuller 12mm combo wrench. (Anyone have info on this? Looks exactly like a CM RP...)

I will probably not use any of the wrenches save for the Fuller. I figure eventually i'll have enough stuff i can pass it all on as a lot worth shipping to someone here. :)

Then went to HF with my buddy since he needed some cheap pry bars. (Got the black hard handle ones, i don't hate them)

Raided the clearance bin, snagged a small set of vice grips (Pittsburgh Pro line, that whole line intrigues me, seems to be pretty good quality from the small time i've messed with them.), wire nuts (always using these to mock stuff up.), rubber mallet, and of course, the free flashlight. "Saved" more than i spent, so i'm ok with it.

Just picked up these two new tools today. Can you tell Im going camping soon :D Also I needed a new knife. This one was the right price. US made and pretty cool looking. The angle of the tanto point is a little agressive and comes to a razor sharp point that im afraid will break off but other than that its a sweet knife.

I only recently tried out my new Swiss firesteel. used it to light a grill for laughs. Got it out of recommendation but just the few strikes I did to practice with gouged it up so might be looking for a new one after a few uses. But I got this because it wasn't china made :rocker:

That is a a snap on dead blow ball peen hammer. The smallest they make at 8 oz. HBBD8 is the part number.

I have 2, a 32oz and 24oz and they are really killer hammers. I will be adding the 48oz and 16oz just cause I like them that much.
