I have at least gotten through the Biopsy stage... no cancer and now dealing with Sarcoidosis. its still a very serious disease, but one I can do something about and hopefully get rid of it one day.

Besides changing my diet, I have to eliminate my "Garage dust/fume intake" completely! The wife will not allow me in the shop without a mask ever again.

Hey... thankfully I still have that option!

I agree. great place with a lot of thought and determination. Thats the part that wins here, personally you wouldn't have to fight me for the stuff, for the most part would get rid of what I got if I could afford to, ha My jealousy factor is low, main reason is I know how much work it is. Lots of people think it comes for free.

Hey, 169 sq. feet is still a "workspace"! It's not that you need more space to work on a project anyway. The extra space is just "extra-vagant"...its not everyone's cup of tea either.

Of course you could always install a compressor and have aritificial ice.

Thought has crossed my mind, didn't make the time, money and health radar screen, LOL.

Maybe we all should take some caution and not be mr. macho about protecting our health. Masks are perfectly fine and should be worn as needed. Glasses more so.

Thanks for posting. What an amazing space! I'm a competent woodworker, but no metal/welding/fab skills, so I'm alway impressed by how much skilled gents with the right tools can do. 100 acres, yeah......I'm on 2.2, and thought it was huge moving from the city.

Your own Batmobile: yikes! So very, very cool. My son and I met George Barris in person a couple of years ago, and my son got him to autograph his sketch book filled with young boys dreams of fast cars. I wish you a quick healing in body and mind. I know how paralyzing and scary facing cancer can be. Thank God that you're past that. I'm so grateful for the skilled surgeons at Mayo in PHX and the Da Vinci robotic technique they used on me last April 1st. Since the radical prostatectomy I've had 4 consecutive 0% psa scores and I'm back in the garage with my projects. Keep the faith and wear your mask!

I am 100% sure there was more hard work than "dumb *** luck" in getting to where you are now.

I am really pleased you and your dad get to play every day.

My dad and I were great friends too, and it has to be said a good relationship like that is worth than a load of cash.

As cool as the Daytona is, the 76 Camaro made my heart skip a beat. if you have managed to retire at 51, that gives me six years to earn a boatload of cash...durn. Might just have to do like some of my friends who own businesses have done and work for a living doing what I love...according to my buddies, it's just like retirement except with a really nice income and you get to live your hobby.

Sarcoidosis - had to look that one up. What little I have read makes it sound like the odds are with you for a full recovery, so I wish you the best with the fight.

We all are looking forward to seeing more of your fun times. Being back in the shop has certainly been my best therapy lately.

I have a confession..... I had to change the oil in my truck down here in Arizona and well you know how "one thing leads to another"?

I ended up changing the front brake pads, rotors and rotated the tires!

Best of all.... my wife gave me permission.

Yeah, and if the engine would have been puffing a little smoke out the tailpipe, it probably would heve been rebuilt too. It looks like you have a toolbox wherever you are - so life is good, right?

I simply can't go somewhere and put my feet up the whole time, I'm not built that way. Not a fully decked out shop, but a good compromise with the boss.

69 Camaro's (RS type) are my favorite. My RS/SS Conv has been restored other than wheels and a 502 GM crate motor upgrade. Its a cute car with just enough giddie up.

69 Z28/RS is undergoing a total original resto.

69 pace car will also undergo an original resto.....some day.

Also waiting to paint my 76 Camaro (I'm replicating my first new car. Well almost...as it was after I hopped it up a little)

Here's the new 450hp stroker that's going in. I will try and keep the engine bay as stock looking as possible and probably postpone the stripe treatment for now. Not an investment car, but its something I've wanted to do for a while now.

They say you can't go back in time, but I do.....everytime I go into my showroom!

Hope you get back to those Camaro's of yours soon enough.

I also started out in high school cruising in my 75 camaro. I think I know where the camaro is and I should go track it down. Like zogman I have moved on to Cougars. Oh and nice garage or should I say shop...

But for all the things you can buy or build, it is great that you can do it with your Dad - enjoy your time together.

Where was that photo taken anyway? California? My cars don't usually venture off my property so a street photo would be rare.

Oddly enough, every time someone spots a Batmobile, I get calls asking if I had my car out.

Sorry I've been away for while, I've been working on my health and I"m feeling great again. I haven't beat this thing yet, but my new regimen is going a long way towards that. "Wake up calls" are blessings only if you actually "wake up"! I plan on sticking to it so I can get back to doing what I love without compromise.

Sooooooo... I've been back in the shop tinkering with my Highschool recreation and its about 99% complete...

I also got a chance to work on a couple of Jukeboxes I'm restoring, but now that summer is here, the garage work mostly waits for rainy days or the Fall to arrive.

So back to the garden work and grass cutting I go...

With over 30 acres of grass to cut on a weekly basis, it feels like "ground hog day" or "painting a bridge" everytime I step into my tractor! Like most chores, a good attitude about getting them done usually goes a long way!
