Well I have been working long days late nights to make my dream garage in my first home. I bought my house in April 2010 and I have been working on it every second I can. I have re-done all the room in the house and made the house my own. My real passion is the garage and is where I have put the most time and work into. I will let most of the pictures do all the talking on what all I have done to the garage. I started with a shell will next to nothing in it other then a few lights. Everything that has been done was done by my father and my self. I did have a lot of help with the electrical work and lighting from my girlfriends uncle and will be having the floor coating done by SealMasters. Well that's enough talking about it so here are the pictures of the work that has gone on up until this point. Please feel free to give me your thoughts comments and if you have any questions please ask.

Very nice! Love the TA. Can u tell us more about the compressor? Where did ya get it? What is the drain for under where you are mounting it? Or is it just that.....a drain?

I bought the air compressor at tractor supply when they had it on sale. paid $750 for it. It is a 5hp motor and an 80 gallon tank. The trench in the concrete is just that a drain for when i drain the water in tank and also makes it much easier to reach. I bought that compressor because i will be doing body work and auto painting in my garage and needed that large of a compressor to run the tools i will be using and also figured if it was little larger it would run less often.

Looks like it's coming along nicely.

I suggest before you bolt down your compressor, unscrew the crappy little in the bottom of the receiver and replace it with a street elbow and a section of 1/4" pipe. Install a ball valve on the end of the pipe just after it exits the underside of the mounting ring. It makes draining the compressor soooo much easier!

The plan is to use some old hockey pucks. Drilling a hole in the center of them and putting them on to the eyebolts and then setting the compresser on top of them and then bolting it down. I like your idea to install the ball valve and 1/4" pipe i will have to do that. sure would make it much easier.

Well my father and I rented a blow in nsulation machine from lowes which was free due to the amout of bags of insulation i bought. we blow insulation in the the back wall and the wall on the right side of the garage also into the floor between the lower and upper half of garage. It took a total of 56 bags and was able to get it done in a day. here are a few pic of the work being done.

Also we have to finsh the trim around the garage and clean everything out of the garage because on May 5th I am have the garage floor done by SealMasters. I am really looking forward to them coming out and doing the floor.

do something creative with the post... cabinet quality woodcraft around it to hide it or something... it's the only ugly thing in there...

Great job so far! I am in a similar boat as you are. My first house is being built as we speak and I have got some big plans for it... AND, I have a TA going into the garage. ;)

Floor turned out very well. Did they do the footers, let dry, then the entire floor? What was their pace? I'm looking at doing my floor this summer by myself and I hear you need to only do as much as you can within a 15 minute dry time window.


You're place overall looks fantastic!

Red Leader-I was the installer, so not to steal any of Ben's thunder, but we started this project about 8 PM, and finished around 6 PM. We do the verticals first, and then the floors. We do a primer, tinted base, vinyl chips, and complete with a polyaspartic topcoat.

Oh, I definately left out the first step, made a few hundred floor repairs before doing any of that.

Any thought of painting the lip of the step so that it's more obvious of a step up/down?
