SK Wayne flea market find

Found this today and was wondering what year it was from if any of you know.
If anyone wants it let me know. All tools are marked S-K Wayne Made in USA

That is a really nice find. I don't know why but for some reason people pay ridiculous prices for SK Wayne stuff on ebay. You could have the same exact tools in a set that were just SK and not SK Wayne and they will go for half as much as the Wayne stuff.

My dad had a 1/4" set like that when I was a kid and I was always getting in trouble for not putting things back in the box, in order.

I saw that auction and all the pictures just had SK tools on it. they went wild and I think the tools were misrepresented...

I just hope whoever did end up buying them actually looked at the pictures and knew what they were bidding on. It would **** to pay that much and end up getting a item that is not what you believed it to be.

I recently purchased several sets that were SK Wayne tools in SK boxes. Everthing i got was NOS. Maybe these tools were left after they changed back to SK and just put in the new SK boxes. I think everthing i got was SK Wayne. Here is my thread.

I looked closer at the pics on Ebay. The ratchet does not say wayne but can't tell about the sockets.

The difference is you can plainly see that all of the tools in that auction are just regular SK tools and not SK Wayne from the pictures.

The problem is that that listing states that all tools are marked SK Wayne when they appear to not be.

I see you posted these in the classified section already. I think you might hit 100 on ebay. I doubt your going to get $170.00 out of anyone here. Most people are yard sale, flea market, auction junkies and pick up this stuff for far cheaper.

This hit $112.50 and was mint.

Yea realistically these tools are probably worth around $40-$50. There are just some stupid people on ebay that like to go crazy and inflate the prices.

I listed it at $170 because of the very similar sk wayne that was really just sk that went for $183 plus $5. Maybe a bad price but I just want top dollar and Im still learning about these things we call tools. Thanks for the input or wake up though.

Yea were not trying to be dicks at all. Most people here are "pickers" at heart.
They are out buying cheap and enjoy the dig. Where as ebay people get caught up on the bidding or dont have the time/energy to go out and find it. They "NEED" it right now. I would like you to make big money and post the results here!

Ok I will let you know what it sells for and what I paid for it. It is just hard to gauge the value with some of the insane fluctuating prices on Ebay. What do you think of that set linked above selling for $183 compared to mine?

always some nutty outcomes on ebay. However, I would guess yours will sell for 50-70$ but anything is possible.

That is a nice set. I have a bunch of vintage S-K stuff, socket sets and such. Ebay is crazy on the prices those bidding wars bring. Glad you got what you wanted for it.

On a similar subject, my father died a few years ago and I've been sorting through all of his stuff and found a large S-K Wayne tool box with tons of tools. All are marked S-K Wayne made in the USA and probably are from the 60s. (Also several tools from other companies but mainly interested in SK Wayne) I've taken a few pictures of some of the tools and written down all the numbers / sizes on the tools. If I posted that info here, would someone be able to give me an estimate on what they might be worth. About to have a big garage sale.
