That setting just begs for a car show with all of your own and your buddies rods sitting around the "compound". (And it would make for a cool photo shoot as well.)

funny you mention the oil. When I built my garage at my other house it was in the back of the property. Slab was poured and ready for the block delivery. The "gentlemen" running the moffet failed to notice a hydraulic leak. He made about 20 trips on my driveway. It was the first paver brick driveway i layer myself and I did not have the pavers sealed. You would not believe the oil trail he left. Needless to say I have my pavers here sealed so bring on your oil leaks!!
Ok so I have some of the night shots back. This was an experiment by a photographer friend of mine and I wanted to share them. I can't say I am entirely happy with them but here they are. I have a pretty good camera but I am still a point and shoot kind of guy when it comes to photography so I needed help with the pictures. Basically he set the camera up on a tripod and snapped 4 or 5 photos.......each with a different exposure. He then overlays all these photos to get the desired result. Near the end of the photo session it was very dark outside and he was using long exposures. I think the sky looks cool in the pictures. I am having him back to take more photos. He really wanted to shoot the Willys in front of the garage. I am glad we did but I want photos of the garage without the car in them. I hope you enjoy the pictures. If you are a photographer or have an opinion i want to know what you think. In the next few days I have some interior night photos and they turned out awesome.

We need a tour of your compound. What is that building on the bottom right inside your fence line? How do you even get in? Through the other guys driveway on the outside of the fence?
Pretty big lot, the walls around the compound makes me thing that Bin Laden will be jumping out at any moment Haha.

I apologize in advance but when I get comments I like to answer them, no matter how brief. I appreciate everyone checking it out.
Its right off a road and it is off the beaten path so to speak here in Sarasota. We are on a dead end road so not much traffic. We are only 1.5 miles from Interstate 75 and 1 mile from the home depot. Nice part of Sarasota is you can get around town pretty quick. Within 5 to 25 minutes I can be just about anyplace in town.
I will post some pictures soon.

Awesome picture and thanks for posting. I have not looked at the Google Earth picture yet. This picture was taken at the end of our homes construction because the roads through the property are still crushed concrete. We did the pavers about 2 months after this.
There is an 8 foot pre-cast concrete wall around the property. The panels are 20 feet long. A 18" x 18" concrete post is every 20 feet and these panels alike in from the top. The footers for the posts are 3 foot square.......the wall is built to withstand 130 mph winds. If you look to the north of me this is where the rich white collar people liveOur property was part of this sub-division very nice homes and we bought it from the developer. The house to the right of the property is where my mom and brother live. The road traveling east and west is our main driveway. As you can see there is a gated entry that goes into the subdivision. We have deeded access to exit through the sub-division if we choose. They have a beautiful entry and we thought we would use it but we really don't bother.
I got one of the interior pictures of the garage today. This was taken at night while some of the exterior shots were being taken. As you can see I have two lifts. I brought these over from my last garage as they were nearly new. I got my lifts from Greg Smith Equipment. It wasn't necessary but we poured footers under the locations of the lifts. You can see in the back corner the cathedral ceiling which is the location of the loft I plan on building for storage. We hope to enclosed the lower section as a work room. The various red cabinets you see are about 8 foot high and have rollout draws for detailing supplies and car parts. At the far right you can see a portion of a brown door.......this door leads to the RV bay.

I own some residential rentals.....apartment buildings, houses, and a retirement community...........in my business I fix toilets too so I am a step bellow an engineer!! In my business we do it all and I am a worker...........just like most of the guys on this thread. Working 7 days a week has always been in my blood

. I bet you feel like you are the king in this compound. , I know I would be strutting around. Are all the project cars yours? I was surprised to see working projects in that garage I figured it would me more of a museum show piece.

No, actually my wife and my mother are the queens. If you see me around here I look more like a worker than an owner. I am still working on little projects around the house, we mow our own grass, take care of landscape, and as it is getting hotter sweating in the garage. I do have the A/C but right now with the bodywork going on I have the doors open. Yes, right now all of the projects are mine. Although I love cars I am a big truck guy too. The 69 Chevy C10 you see in the picture is completely in pieces right now. I am working on the frame installing the air-ride suspension, Z-06 Corvette brakes(14" fronts and 13.5 rears, brake lines, fuel, and some wiring. The cab and bed are off and are in their own process of assembly.....only to all be taken apart to be painted and then assembled again. In the back corner barely visible is 1966 Suburban. It is a nice solid truck and right now it is in primer. It is a real solid truck and we are hopefully going to put it in the paint booth in two weeks. The red Malibu SS I showed a picture of earlier has the motor out. It is already done but now motor is out we will smooth the firewall and install a new 502 we are building.................so, yes this is a working garage. I am not happy unless i have a project.
