Sheeting interior walls - Tin or OSB?

I'm in the process of getting a quote to put up a 32x64x10 pole bar. I plan to have it cut in half, so 32x32 will be shop and the back 32x32 will be cold storage, with the intent to someday finish the inside. I'm planning on sheeting the ceiling with tin. The walls I'm not sure yet. I'm getting it quoted as sheeted with tin for now. I know the tin is easy to clean, don't have to worry about painting, but you can't push benches, toolboxes etc tight against the walls tricker to hang stuff up. OSB, painted give more flexibility for pushing stuff tight against the walls and hanging stuff is easier. Any thoughts? Builder said he's seen people use OSB on the bottom 4' and tin on the top half.
Any thoughts/recommendations?

Wall coverings are a 6 of one and half dozen of the other. You will never get a single answer on here, it'll be more of a debate. Each one has it's pros and cons.

I use 4' of osb on the bottom mounted horizontally and then white peg board also mounted horizontally...all over blown in cellulose insulation. Looks good and no painting, sanding or taping.;)

I used both. I sheeted the walls with OSB and then put a 4' wainscoting of the corrugated metal roofing. I really like the look and it is practical. BTW, I did my ceiling in the same corrugated metal roofing. I got the idea from one of the members on this board.

I don't have pics as of yet. The garage is a mess and once I get it straightened up I will post pics. I got my idea from Texas Saltbox build. Try searching that he has some real nice pics posted. I really like the look and think that there is some added fire safety with the metal over top the OSB. My fireman buddy thought it was fine.

OSB is awfully ugly and it screams "CHEAP!"
I am placing the metal 'wrong side out' to make it easier to fit against shelves.

Wall coverings in one of the most debated issues here at GJ. As far as pictures go, well PB has basically broken the internet with their greed. The best advice would be to scroll through the Gallery section for a few days and see what others have used and done. It should give you many ideas.

One thing I rarely see mentioned with tin wall covering is Hotwork. I do a lot of welding and grinding in my garage. I had tin on the bottom 4' of my walls for a while. The sparks from welding and grinding burned into the galvanized coating. After just a few months the tin was pock marked and looked terrible. OSB doesn't have that problem, the sparks bounce right off.

As far as tin and pushing things against the wall. A 1x3 board,a compass or saved scrap of metal, and a jig saw/scroll saw you have a a tight fitting bench or shelf. Yes it's a little more work but less than trying to paint OSB

Are there any downsides to placing the metal "wrong side out". I've got a chance to buy some cheap white metal that was ran wrong side out. It would be for my interior walls. Just wondering if there are any downsides to it.

I've got several variations in a couple of different buildings and rooms within a building.

My garage is built with stud walls above three courses of split face block. The interior isn't fully completed, like most of my projects, but is mostly sheet rock, painted white, with a white steel ceiling. I'm putting galvanized steel wainscoat accents along the back wall, mostly for aesthetic reasons (I think it looks cool).

My shop has 16' ceilings, with the lower part osb, and the upper part and ceiling white steel.

I prefer the steel over the osb, as it looks better to me. Hanging things on the steel is an issue brought up here, but that can easily be overcome by hanging a horizontal 1"x6" board or piece of ripped plywood mounted on stand offs to clear the ribbing of the steel sheets.

I have one with 4' of subflooring on the walls and the rest metal. My other building has osb all the way up.
The metal is bright and white, and reflective of light while being easy to clean. But holes are forever. No painting ever on the metal part.
The osb building is painted and took 3 coats. I can hang stuff without worry about holes. It has been about 20 years and it is getting ready for a new coat of paint.
The one with metal has wiring in conduit and surface mounted boxes. Not as clean looking but easy to modify.
The one with OSB has wiring buried in walls with flush boxes. Looks good and easy to put things along the walls, but changes are no easy.

I did the ceiling a while back in tin. My plan on the walls are tin with a 4' strip of osb. My walls are 14'. Big decision now is a color on the osb?
