this is how my father (a Russian immigrant who lived through communism, the perestroika, and the 80's before moving here in '91) plumbed the basement.
he says this is how they rolled in the collective farms.

Looks like in went to a garage sale and bought 3 boxes of fittings. Wife told him, "You better use ALL that sh$$ up, or else ''. :thumbup:

Around here back in the 50's when a lot of indoor plumbing was going on some "plumber" went around and a large percentage of homes had the hot on the right and cold on the left. When I was doing reno work I reversed quite a number of them.

That usually means a spanish only speaker installed the faucets. C is for caliente.

At least you have enough shut off valves for leaking connections.

I love the notch in the floor joist for the two 1/2" PEX lines

and

the open flue pipe sitting on a rag and just below the air make up intake!

I can only guess the rag is there to keep all the hot gases inside the confined space.
