Pro's in Houston?

I'm looking to get my floor coated in the next two weeks (the wife is out of town )

I just called http://xpeditecoatings.com/ and they are coming by tomorrow to show me samples.

Their pricing is $2.50 per Sq/ft for their Edge product, $2.99 for the Premium, and $3.50 for the Ultra Premium.

He said he could do the Premium with a bit heavier flake for me for the same price and would use about 30 lbs of flake for my 530 sq/ft garage. He said the Ultra premium is a LOT more flake, something like 120 lbs

Anyway, who else should I call????

Also, what are the differences in polyurethane, polyaspartic and sprayed-on polyure??

I really like this one company that does the spray on Polyure - their price is really good at $2.50 sq/ft. Is the spray good?

Call a LINE-X dealer.

Those prices are suspect. They are too low to be reasonable, especially the spray-on polyurea.

Well Xpedite came out today and he kept talking about outgassing causing bubbles and it turned me off on them quite a bit. Too early to be giving me a bunch of disclaimers.

I'm leaning more and more to doing it myself with some kind of kit.

he did say my concrete was "soft" and should absorb the product well.

You already know the issues that can cause outgassing from this forum. Maybe the better approach is to not necessarily be turned off but to ask them as pros what they do to alleviate and avoid them? Also, could it be with the humidity and temps there in summer, it's a bad time to do the floor?

Well, again, call a LINE-X dealer and ask if they are Aspart-X certified. If so, they will test your concrete for moisture, perform a Mohs hardness test, a PH test, etc.

I did Sherwin Wiliams product and was very happy with the results... Did Tile Clad, they had a Urathane top coat as well and at the time didn't have the money, thinking I might grind and fix the holes in the concrete I didn't fix the first time before painting and put another coat of Tile Clad on followed by their Urathane... Might get a quote on materials and someone to do the work? Just a thought.... Also what part of Houston are you located, might can help you out by letting you use my discount, it cut cost of materials in 1/2 for me....

Thanks, I'm thinking about maybe just doing a Standard Epoxy Clear Sealer with an Anti-skid Additive and calling it good. I don't need fancy colors or flakes.

I'm north of downtown, about 8 miles. 610 and 290 area.

Well I'm up 290 a little ways, if you want to meet me at 529 and HWY 6 area at the sherwin williams there, they have my account in their system and I can save you some money... They have a very good product in my opinion and you can read about others who used tile clad... If not no worries... Other thing I ahve considered is buying some tile and just doing the whole garage in tile, it is fairly inexpensive really, but would depend on how hard you are on your floor.....

Are you talking about the H&C sealer? I have pics of what it looks like after 4 years. [sorry i now see you did an epoxy]

Red, that's fine, but put down (2) coats. The first coat acts like a primer and the second is your finish. Calculate 300 sq ft. per coat.

Your finish will be a nice matte gloss.
