I am trying to decide between these two lifts. I will be lifting 3/4 and 1 to trucks with flatbeds and lots of weight on the beds. The trucks will weigh up to 12k so hence the 14 and not a 9.

The trucks are all long beds and either extended or crew cabs. Max wheelbase would be 169".

The standard length has 198" runways and the X has 229" runways. It seems that the standard would work but I don't see really any vehicles being longer than a crew cab long bed truck so I wonder if I should get the X? I guess what I wondering is if I don't need it for these long trucks who would?

The price difference would go about half way towards buying the rolling bridge jack.

I don't think you'll need the X, I would put the cash towards a bridge jack. They are neat gadgets.
