Well, now that I'm going to transition away from Craftsman I have been looking for places the sell SK hand tools. What surprised me was that Auto Value and Advance Auto both sell the full line of SK tools. Where does everybody else find them?

I bought about $1200 in SK in the last year from Tooltopia.com. With 3 different orders they didn't get nothing wrong.

Advance prices its SK higher from my experience. However, if I order it in-store using my employee discount, it saves me money if I'm not buying tons of tools at one time.

There Prices have Risen and some of there items are not eligible for coupons anymore.. It pays to check around, Normally when im looking for a specific tool i just google the part number and go from there, Ebay, Tooltopia, Amazon are always at the top of my list.

I also get my SK tools from ToolTopia. They have the best prices I could find, plus free shipping on orders more than $99.

grainger does warranty? a couple of the sockets and the adapter are now 2-piece, i feel that qualifies as a warranty issue....and before u guys ask the (impact)adapter was on a short ratchet, not impact abuse. snapped right at the retention ball

If you have a Grainger store near you, try there. I have had some luck with them.

Ditto. Grainger warranted SK for me before. I'm not sure if the counter guys would have helped me though. I went through our rep. He can be a little easier to work with.

I buy my SK tools from my local industial tool supply company, Schaefer Supply, Dover NJ. I've been buying SK from them since 1988. For a short period of time the sold Proto and Wright . After SK re organized with Idea the started selling SK again.

I buy from Tooltopia but I've seen two independent tool trucks driving around recently and want to try them

Independant tool truck - I have never seen one, how does that work. A guy just buys a truck, goes out on his own, selling any brand of tools he wants ? How does he warranty tools, does he just eat the broken ones ? Does he give credit, and just carry his own financing ? I think its a intresting concept.

Ordered my first SK tools from Mechanics Tool Supply online recently (SK1340, SK1350, SK19769, SK46172). Prices were significantly lower than other dealers ($159.12 + $11.49 shipping). After I receive the order, I realize I should have included SK40963. Damnit! Normally $8.94 on MTS, it's even on sale for $5.99 right now, yay! Except that's $10.09 shipping. Damnit. I guess at this point...I need to find more things on MTS I need to buy at the same time! Any suggestions?

Back in the late 90s, the local auto parts store used to send a guy around to all the shops selling tools, primarily SK. This guy extended credit, warrantied tools, just as Mac or Snap-on did.

Most of the guys in my shop bought quite a bit from him. I never did as I didn't have much money back then and I already had a decent relationship with the Mac dealer. From what I remember though, the SK guy was the top seller in our shop.

We have an independent tool truck here that is a factory SK dealer. He of course sells SK but also warranties it. It's really nice not have a headache when something does break which isn't very often. He also carries stuff like armstrong, gear wrench, knipex, vim, otc, ast, etc. He extends credit on his truck accounts as well.

Purchased all my SK stuff from Tooltopia.

I have warrantied some SK stuff (generally for cosmetic reasons) directly with SK Customer Service. I also did one SK bit socket warranty replacement directly with Tooltopia using the online customer service feature. It was a little slow but got the job done.

Didn't know advance auto parts carried the line, but I haven't stepped foot in one in about five years

anyone know where to warranty sk? havr a few old broken sockets, a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter and a 3/8 ratchet

I have had zero problems with S-Ks warranty now that they are owned by Ideal. Call up their customer service line and tell them what you have that you would like to warranty. They typically pay postage both ways and the shipping is quite fast and painless. YMMV

I found their warranty isn't the quickest, expect 2-4 weeks. The new stock seems to have quality control issues just like the old stock. At least the items I warrantied weren't that much better than what I sent in. they do pay for shipping which is the best part.
