I built this lean to a few years back to keep weather off stuff.

I got it cleaned up and added 30 yards of fill.

Instead of killing myself and spending weeks in pain I paid someone to do it.

All I have to do now is put tin on the sides. I can save a few bucks and not have to spend much time on a ladder.

Total damage for the structure only as you see it was $4.27 a SQ FT.

Nice! I like it .... and it's fire proof!!

I'm rather a fan of these inexpensive steel carport/sheds and own a total of 5 of them myself ... three are the basic 20x20 size, one is a 12x20, and one is a 22x20. I also thought that I'd save a few bucks and add the siding to two of them at a later date ... I gotta tell ya, that siding is HEAVY!! Definitely a 2-man job and probably better with 3 guys.

My recommendation to anyone buying one of these steel carport/sheds is buy the siding with the shed and let the erection crew do the installation!! It's money well spent!

You can ask, but I can’t really answer, we don’t know with any certainty.
All I can say is the first one is definitely not arson, the second I am hoping is human negligence and not arson but it is a possibility.

I had the thing up a little over a day and ran into one of the uprights with the tractor loader bucket.
I put a pretty good bend in it. I pulled it back some with a chain and the tractor. today I pulled it the rest of the way with a 4 ton come along.

I am going to order tin for the sides tomorrow.

Its good to see you rebuilding. THose sheds are nice, I had two put up (16x32x14, ans a 24x30x8) at my FIL house to store our stuff when I moved overseas. That was in 10 years ago and the FIL reports that they are still doing great. Not a bad deal for him to get those sheds after I parked my trucks there for three years.

One fire was more than enough for me....Sorry to hear you've had two! It must be a little disturbing not knowing for sure the cause...especially if you suspect foul play. Best of luck on the rebuild.....looks like you're making the best of it and taking the opportunity to improve on what you had. Any metal structure doesn't have the character of the wood, but should be much more fire resistant. Keep us posted as you put it all back together. Are you planning on just storage, or will it be a work area also?

I was watching the bucket and mower deck so I didn't hit the tree and damned if I didn't hit a large limb above and busted the canopy all to hell It's still setting in the shed waiting on me to 'glass it up and repaint it.

Ordered the tin today, and along with supporting my local Amish businessman (as opposed to the non English speaking crew of the car port company) I am saving over $600 doing it myself. Chances are good the steel is thicker too.

It only takes me 2.5 hours to get to Detroit. I was in Dearborn yesterday getting fucked over by a dishonest car seller on CL. wasted the better part of a day looking at a wrecked car and 2 that were overpriced.
Only joy was dinner with my BFF and spending an hour in the old neighbor’s pool in auburn hills.
