Not all wrench sets are on sale. For some reason, the offset wrench sets don't qualify. That's what I hate about Sears sales. They'll say "40% off Gearwrench wrench sets" but certain sets don't qualify. Now, 20% off all Cman wrench sets, yet the offsets aren't discounted. Grr.

Thanks for the link. I just ordered the standard and metric version of the long hex sockets. I've been wanting these for a while!

Is $159.99 a good price for the Craftsman 16 pc. 3/4" Socket Set, 12 pt.? It is another tool that I really want but I really don't need for anything. Someone talk me off the ledge.

Ditto on the link - also ordered both of the ball hex sets and a cable hose clamp pliers. Was planning on eventually ordering an SK ratcheting one at @$70+, but for @ $28 with the 20% and -$5, the Craftsman non-ratchet ones will work fine.

I use my 3/4 set every now and then. I actually use the sockets more with my press as dies to press parts together.

Great. Now I need to buy a press too. I'm going to need a second job to support my lurking on this website.

I wanted the 12 pc set of deep offset wrenches, but it was showing up at $79.99 and $5 off didn't even cover shipping (no option for instore pickup), so I called customer support and said, "Whats wrong with the web page my 20% isn't showing up". The guy disappeared a couple times on hold, but eventually told me make the purchase and send them the transaction number and they would issue a 20% rebate. To keep it tidy I had him stay on the line while I completed and gave him the number. Time will tell I suppose, but I expect it to work.

Good luck - I ordered a toolbox a month ago for online pickup. They didn't have it in the store. Still don't have my money back. Disputing the charge w/the credit card company is simple enough, but good luck on something like this.

it is a good price for a US made set, but your $159 is better saved and spent elsewhere unless you have a need for a set like that once a week or so..

Sears is just irritating. I, for once, would like to hear from someone who actually got a great deal and had the items delivered instead of teh transaction cancelled...

I feel that I just got a great deal, the 20% on top of the sale price got me an 11 drawer quiet glide roller cabinet for $244, cheaper than I've ever seen it. I wanted a better box, but it suits my current needs with a little room to grow and I couldn't pass it up at that price.

I just went to the page to see that set and it shows it as $199 with the 20% off? For $159 I was going to jump on it as it's normally $219.

I went looking for the basic Gearwrench sets, no curved, flarenut or anything else and they were showing at regular price.

Are the prices creeping back up as the holiday weekend wears on and the sale starts to end?

A lot of times, you have to put an item in your Shopping cart to see the reduced price.

I received a 14 piece Gearwrench flex-head wrench set and a 4 piece metric adapter set for $72 shipped. Received it the other day. A great deal, considering that each 7 piece set costs $45 during a 50% off in-store sale. I did better than if I had $10 off $25 coupons...

I've seen this before. Why does Sears accept slickdeals coupons? Do they have some kind of deal worked out?
SDEALS197 could stand for Sears deals...

Yes, I know that. Some items just don't follow the rules.

Good luck. I got screwed out of almost $50 that they were going to "refund" me to make up for their system figuring it wrong. They were "taking care of it" six times, I never saw it. They lost my business.

A credit card dispute or BBB complaint works wonders for making Sears' horribly inefficient customer service dept. move.

I too was looking at the deep offset wrench sets - they conveniently weren't classified as wrench sets despite them being wrench sets.

Hard to dispute the charge when I was charged for what was listed, it just wasn't listed right.

Problem is, if they have a craftsman club and **% off, they give you the **% off, and then the club discount, which just takes it to what the club discount was to start with.
