Hey, I've been looking for some snap on angle wrenches to complete my set, I have up to 3/4 and would like to have the bigger ones up to 1 3/8 but the prices are kind of ridiculous on them, are there any other brands out there that compare to the snap on ones? I really like that they have a 30 degree angle on one side instead of the regular 15 so that would be one of the main things I want. Any suggestions are appreciated, I have some HF ones and they **** really bad I really want to upgrade them.

you might try the cat branded ones. same as the snapons. i got my set up to 1 1/4 for almost $200 cheaper that snapon

V8 tool's makes angle wrenches that are 30* & 60* off set but I dont think they make them bigger then 1-1/4. (Tooltopia doesnt list them anyway).

This is what i kind of figured, the v8 ones caught my eye because they have the right angles but i doubt theyll hold up to everyday use, has anyone actually used these?
do you know if they have the 30 degree angle?

I too think SO makes the best 4 way wrench. I have a set of SK too, they are nice and thin, I like them very much too. That said, I don't think the new SK makes them anymore. I would also look at martin. They are pretty nice, but skip 1 5/16", a size I use so I passed on them.

they are one thing thats hard to find in the used market, unless you find a retired heavy eq or ag mechanic.

yea, i was actually bidding on a CAT set on ebay but it ended up going for like 375 which i know is a lot cheaper than snap on but still a lot of money for 14 wrenches, another thing im kind of worried about would be getting them warrantied if i ever needed to.

You're right about that, ive been looking for them for a while now, and when they do come up they go for top dollar, if i dont find a decent deal soon i might have to just get them from the truck, its gonna hurt if it comes down to that, hahaha

the only set i bought was 3/8" - 3/4"
everything else from 13/16" to 1 5/8" was one at a time as needed.
ive only needed 2 in metric,
12mm & 17mm is all i have

i have from 1/2 to 3/4 snap on, 7/8 and 1 1/8 martin, and a full set 3/8 to 2" HF, the HF 1 3/8 to 2" are decent but the 3/8 to 1 1/4 are garbage, busted my fingers more than once because of them, the 7/8 cracked the first time i used it, i really enjoy using the snap on ones.

Did you pay full price for them? i know the bigger ones can be more than $100 each
I just checked them out at their website, they look just like my martin wrenches, maybe rebranded???,

The V8's got some attention a while back as a inexpensive wrench set with decent quality. Probably run a search on them. I may be looking to get a set soon as I may need them for a new job.
if you do please keep us updated on how they do. these are the onlly ones other than snap on that ive seen with the right angles

I would be surprised if SK wasn't making them again. I went to Clark's tools in Blue Springs today, and they used to be a big SK store. Once SK started having supply problems, they didn't have so much and carried more Wright tools. I went in today to see quite a few SK tools and looked at the angle wrenches, but didn't check size or angles. (on my eventual list, when I find cheap)
just got back from work and a 1 1/2 snap on wrench could have saved me about 2 hours worth of work on one of the machines i worked on, it really ***** when you know there's a perfect tool out there for what you're trying to do but you dont have it.

Yes, I think today made me decide to just go for it, it wasn't fun struggling with a hydraulic hose when its 105 degrees outside under the sun and probably around 120 underneath the machine, I felt like I was gonna pass out. It was an asphalt roller that broke down after running for probably around 8 hours straight.

Got a "tools & equipment" catalog the other day at work (We get them from Napa & other places, they get them from a dist., and order the stuff in).
They have a 9pc V8 wrench set in metric is listed as #819, 96.95$, contains 24mm to 32mm, no gap's. The other set is a 16pc #816, 82.75$, from 10mm to 23mm, no gap's.
I did not see any inch angle wrenches listed, but I would guess they have a comparable in set containing the larger sizes as well. If I get a chance later, I'm going to look it up.

I checked out V8's website and they do make an angle wrench set from 1-5/16 to 2". Item #9810. It is 15* x 60* off set, every other set is 30* x 60* off set. Not sure why unless they have not updated.

I thought a lot of them are 15/60, even the Armstrongs look to be 15 degrees.

From what I know, only Snap-on (they did it first) and some, if not all, of the V8 set's are are 30* x 60*.

Even if SK is making them again and I hope they do, they only made up 1 1/4". When ideal got the site back up and going, I messaged them about the wrenches and asked if they could look into a topper set up to 1 1/2". Wheter anybody listen, who knows. I have a set of SK's angles and they are treated like gold simply due to the fact I as of now I can't replace one. Even without the 30 degree head, they are every bit as good as my SO.
