Ernst socket rail sizes

Does anyone know if different size clips (1/4", 3/8", 1/2") can be used on the same rail, or are the clips and rails unique for each particular size?

I'd like to be able to mix and match socket sizes on the same rail, but their catalog isn't clear whether this is possible.

Assuming they can be mixed, I'll be picking up some up soon. Amazon comes up first on the search engines, and while places like Northern carry Ernst, it doesn't look like they cary the full line. Any recommended GJ vendors that do? Thanks.

I think Summit Racing is about the cheapest for them. Also look up Ernst's site. I have one ernst rail, but switched to Wright, which I get from Harry Epstein.

They are cheap right up until you pay the $10 shipping charge.

If you only need a single rail then believe it or not, Snap-on sells the Ernst 13" and 18" rails for about $8/each, delivered to your door.

18" TwistLock Socket Rail w/ End Stop
ERN8400A (1/4" Drive) $8.50
ERN8401A (3/8" Drive) $8.50
ERN8402A (1/2" Drive) $8.50

13" TwistLock Socket Rail w/ End Stop
ERN8414 (1/4" Drive) $7.50
ERN8415 (3/8" Drive) $7.50
ERN8416 (1/2" Drive) $7.50
