I bought a Snap On ratchet off E-bay. It is a F726B, orange handle, the description said it was 3/8" drive, but its actually a 1/2" drive in a 3/8" ratchet body. Did this ratchet come from Snap On like this? or did somebody modify it after the fact.

I haven't decided if I'm keeping it yet, I was trying to fill a gap in my 3/8" drive collection. I don't really know how much I would use this ratchet.

I'll probably hang on to it for a while and see how much use it gets, I only got about $21 bucks in it.

Yes it did come that way, you could swap the gear and plate, I think I have them.

Little trick I learned from somebody on this site:

Go to snapon.com, click on the parts catalog, then square drive tools, then look up your ratchet part number.

Thanks Merkava I thought there was one piece that wasn't included. For some reason I was thinking it was the gear.

The two I have have everything including the plate. They came from an estate auction of a former Snap On dealer. So I would say they were ones he had set up himself.

The Snap On site drives me nnuts at times trying to find information on it.

The dealers will try to tell you that the dust covers are not included but they're frickin' liars!!! When I had my S715 rebuilt, it had a new dust cover in the kit!!!
