Don't know if it's real or not but even if it is, you can get a fine truck box for alot less than $400.

The guy I got a previous F250 from had a Snap-On box in his bed but he was keeping it. He said they only sold them for a year or few. Don't have many details on it, trying to see if I have any pics on my hard drive of it.
Looking in some old posting by the PO of my one truck, he said it was built by this company: http://www.dawsbetterbuilt.com/index.php

The only catalog I have that shows the truck boxes is #300, 1995. The boxes shown have smooth sides and diamond plate lids, with the logo being a large red rectangle with the Snap-on logo inside of it. The logo shown in the pics looks like a logo off of a toolbox IMO.

EDIT

Second glance at the photos and I see a 45 degree bevel instead of the lid being a sharp 90 degrees at the edge as pictured in the catalog. Of course, the one you're looking at may be earlier or later production.............who knows? I've only seen one or two in real life and didn't give them much thought at the time other than "I guess that's one way to advertise your expensive tools". lol

My dealer had one as a contest prize last month. Since I don't have a truck I didn't enter. It was made by some one else and had a badge applied to it ( Don't remember who he said made it) But he got it from Snap On.

FWIW, that looks identical (except for the badge) to my neighbor's Husky truck box.

I do remember when Snapon had their own truck boxes, and that's not one of them.

It's a fake. That box is most likely this one by DeeZee.

Well I can tell you that the box does not feel flimsy. It feels like a tank.

The true Snap-On truck boxes were way before they pimped their name on Chinese junk at Costco. I believe they were made by WeatherGuard/Knack. They make the best truck boxes out there.

Is this the real deal or another fake?.......
I know this thread is old, but I have this same exact box that I bought off a kid I went to school with for $50 because he needed gas money.. this thing is, like said above, huge, built like a tank and I love it and don't ever plan to get rid of it. Mine had badges on it that were black with a red S/O logo on them. When I got it I had my snappy guy at work look at it and he said they were part of one of thos promotions a while back where you finance a bunch of tools and get it for free. He couldn't remember who built them, by if anyone knows I'd really like to know. I need a new hinge for mine and latches and would like to know who built it and where to get parts.
