Nice orange goodies!! BTW is there a date on the pistol grip box, just curious how old the stock was lol

No date on the package bout I did just notice the little kershaw knife that came with the set was made in Oregon! I bought my first pistol grip screwdriver not long after 2000-2001 so maybe around that era? :dunno:

Seems like everything I've ordered in the past few weeks showed up today. The pistol grip set, putty knives, and caliper ratchet came from GJ member Gally. He even threw in a couple keychains! The kershaw chubby knife came from eBay. Also had a bunch of NWS and one pair of knipex pliers and cutters I ordered from Ash of German Hand Tools. It was like fricken Christmas around here!

Proto full polish US made T500 series antislip metric wrenches in sizes 8-24 mm (minus 9, 20, 23mm). Crappy picture but, the chrome is great and the balance is perfect. Modified open end, off corner engagement on the boxed end. What's not to love? I also got a set of US made Williams 3/8 drive deep impact sockets in consecutive sizes 7-24 mm. Well finished inside and out, a very complete set at a fraction of a truck set!!!

Grey Pneumatic 3/8" impact set. These should come in handy with my Bosch impact...

These are the first Grey Pneumatic products I have owned. They seem to have nice thin walls and a nicer finish than I am used to for impact sockets. I wish they were stamped with the size, not just printed, but that's a pretty minor critique.

Also picked up a Grip-on pliers/clamp. This is my first Grip-on, too. Seems nicely made. Made in Spain.

Next time grab some sunex impact sockets. I swear they come from the same factory except sunex boxes are red. Anyway Sunex has the gold lettering and a small stamped size on their impact sockets. Grey pneumatic and Sunex impact sockets are good stuff.

What part number is that orage snap on mini-ratchet ?

I did not realize snap on made one, only found the blue point set. Can anyone point me in the direction of the part number ?

Part number is YA8930 pretty sure it's called a caliper tool or something like that. I use mine (this ones for a friend) as a bit ratchet though. It takes 5/16 hex bits as opposed to normal 1/4 bits.

I have the previous version CTS561CL and i use the **** out of it all the time! I'm considering a 1/4" impact driver, but that little thing is such a beast i haven't done it yet. I will say I love the lithium ion battery and the variable speed trigger on the new model. I have half a mind to trade in my ol' faithful for the new kid on the block. I use the Matco MQC34B 34 pc. set all day long as well as the 40-some-odd piece Blue Point. I use the 1/2" socket adapter and the appropriate socket to install the GM plastic lug nut covers with the clutch set on about 2 or so. Saves a surprising amount of time after torquing vs. just doing them by hand. Enjoy it!

i reread your post about the 5/16 vs 1/4" Yes, I was hoping that snap on made a 1/4 version for bits. I got a cheapie that craps out after about 5-10 uses usually.

So a year ago i bought these snap on ratcheting wrenches off craigslist for $60 (8mm-14mm) and i traded a guy locally for this blue set of screwdrivers, a straight trade. with the tray! it was missing the sdd6 but i had spares! so those are new to me,
and i finally received the vintage green set of drivers so i re-organized the main screwdriver drawer.

and i got a couple cool older things off of craigslist

The stuff you see with the price tag is from sears and was %50 of what they were marked. The Kobalt sockets were $10 a set.

I love this dirty old pawn shop, picked these up for $15.
Proto 3/8 - 7/8 crow feet. (the rail is also stamped USA PROTO)
the black residue you see is from some tape that was on it.
Can not find any wear on them, look to be brand new.

Went to HD tonight to buy some other things. I saw this 6" cushion grip adjustable, the last of the US made, so I bought it. I took it home, and was not very pleased. The jaws are very loose and sloppy, and the top of the wrench looks like part of it was cut off in manufacturing. I may just give it to a buddy.
IMG_202.jpg

I also noticed Dewalt adjustable wrenches, pliers, and crimpers (Taiwan), and this Estwing hammer...makes me sad.

only the surestrike line is made in taiwan. The all metal handles are made in the USA. Been that way for a while. It is reflexed in the price, that hammer is 17 dollars. The US one is 35 Dollars. So you have an option base on your price point. Just move the camera over to the all metal hammers or hickory handle ones from estwing, and you get a very large made in the USA option.

And the estwing nail clars the ones with the blue plastic, high quality made in japan.

Your choice is a US company that gives you a US option as well as a made in taiwan option for less. Or go with the no name made in china or husky made in china option. I do not see any problems with what estwing is doing. It gives the buyer a quality too with the estwing backing. And still saves the buyer money vs getting the workforce brand.
