Hello guys, I'm looking for a good bow saw. I have some older Swedish saws but they need to be replaced as one has a screw for a blade catch and another is at the end of its life as well.

All the new saws I buy are super cheep and only good enough to get out of the store, after that they seem to fall apart easy and the steel in the blades are ****. I'm even having trouble finding a good saw on the internet let alone in a store.

If anyone knows of a brand or where I can get a good bow saw I would appreciate it.

Keep in mind these are for use in the woods for firewood processing.

I'd suggest you just keep your eyes open on craigslist (and the like) for a NOS or near-new old Swedish saw like the ones you have.

They're almost free around here!

Are they just dull, or are the frames shot? Replacement blades used to be dirt cheap.

The frames are shot and the blades have been sharpened a few times, I just want to replace them but its hard to find anything quality.

I have heard that Bancho force or whatever is decent but I know they are not the same quality of the older ones.

Well, I'd take a look at what Sandvik is up to. My old Sandvik is about 30 years old, and still going strong...
