I pick this up about 6-10 years and and I'm finally around to putting it up. It's for my shop water hose. I started putting it together and realized I'm definitely missing some pieces and I'm not sure what to look for around here. If anyone has a picture of one assembled or a link to one that would be great. I think it's a HF or Northern reel. I can't find picture of it anywhere on the web.

There is two swivel assemblies but I only have one threaded piece?

A bit impatient?

Get the brass bits out and in a fashion so we can see what they are... Those bras pieces should have some way to allow one to be the supply line connection, and the other to turn on it with an O ring seal, and the spooled hose connects to that.

I don't see either hose end, or a hose. Is this supposed to be hard piped, or connected to a hose for it's supply? is the shop water hose lie a garden hose, or more like air hose with pipe threaded ends?

Missing the long bolts, for the handles for sure, and whatever the mount was for it ot spin on. does it spin on the silver tube, or does that tube spin on something else?

I didn't want the thread to drift away into obscurity.

There are two identical swivels, and only one threaded end. The handles mount with short bolts so those are not an issue. It has has hose connections. I assume it spins on the tube? I have no clue about the mount.

I've looked at 100's of pics online and can't find anything close.

Assuming the silver tube is hollow, you may be missing an extension pipe that goes between the two brass main nuts. that will get you from where the spool hose connects, to the end to the silver tube. That silver tube has to have some sort of mount that lets it spin, or the spool is spinning on that? That tube must be the axle for the spool...

Assuming that, the unthreaded end of the silver tube get anchored, and while the supply end of the two swivels does swivel, it's for strain relief more than anything else.

I think your primary missing pieces are the connecting pipe between the two swivels, and the axle mount.

Yah the silver tube is hollow. And based on the pic above I'm missing the mounting bracket which looks to bolt the silver tube.

I use Google images a lot to get easier to spot results, and I'm sure that is what he did, as I found the same pic/link

I saw these at a PA junkyard last month - they were meant to be cable reels, but they look like they would be kick-*** industrial strength hose reels. Or maybe I just drink too much when I walk around junkyards.

Thanks again for the help Rotty & Outlaw! I'll post a pic when I get it bolted up to the rack. I'll have to fab up a bracket on Thursday when I'm back at work.
