Might as well start a welding thread.

I figured instead of clogging the welding project thread up every day I'd just start a thread for all of my nonsense. Background: Accountant by day, shop rat by night. I picked up a craftsman 1960's stick welder about 3 years ago to learn on, well that got old quick but I did get the hang of it. Finally found a little lincoln MIG and since have aquired:
-argon/Co2 bottle
-Lincoln idealarc TIG/Stick with a 100% argon bottle
-Plasma cutter
-built a welding table
-portaband with vertical stand
-Oxy/Acetylene setup
-Various other metal working stuff

I just love it. Anytime I'm not at work or hanging out with the girlfriend I'm in the shop doing something. This thread is just to post my random stuff And get some feedback. This forum is awesome BTW

Thanks everybody! I have always been a little on the abstract side when it comes to things, I mainly just went ot school for accounting so I would have a job upon graduation. After 5 years in the field I think I may go back to school for engineering now however.

the foot looks awesome And you should try using anti splatter spray on your parts, the spray on stuff works pretty good.

Thanks a lot guys! I really appreciate it I have some anti spatter but I tend to lean away from using it because of the gases it puts off but I'll look into a better ventilation system.

Awesome work. For the anti spatter trick try using just baking spray instead, Like PAM. Little better smell and non toxic.
Great use of left over parts by the way.

James I absolutely love this stuff. Here is a boot puller or boot jack I made because I actually needed one.

When I was a kid in Vancouver a family friend was a mechanic and in his free time would make some incredible welded sculptures made out of scrap parts and metals. My favorite was a forklift and f1 car. I can still remember the sparkplugs making the little engine block!
I am due for a visit back home soon and I will definately ask him if I can get some pics to share.

Keep up the great work.. I'm inspired and subscribed and will keep adding myself.
