In part due to inspiration on this forum, I thought some might like to see the transformation /restoration of my Hein Werner 1 1/4 ton jack... Paid 20.00 for it...after rebuild kit and some ball bearings, sandblasting,a helicoil, paint, tag etc..total resto cost came to: 276.06. Was worth it to me!

Nice first post! And nice jack. I have a jack and a trans jack I need to finish redoing. What did you need the ball bearings for? Also, can you explain how you painted it after it was blasted, the steps and products you used?

Contact Hiball on here, search for posts from him and then you can PM him. He knows his jacks and can set you up with a rebuild kit.

Ok..gang..bought the kit for this jack from HiBall.. Tore jack down and first spray it down with POR's marine clean. It gets the tough grease off. I wanted to do that before dropping off at blaster. No need to imbed grease on parts! used a local blaster and he charged 38.00 to do all the parts of jack..(was worth it to me)...then sprayed cleaned, blasted parts with POR's metal ready to help paint adhesion and painted parts with hitemp chevy orange enamel paint from autozone. (you will need 2 cans) Worked well..Used white engine enamel for cradle. Needed ball bearings to rebuild one the casters and a helicoil to fix a stripped thread on a caster attachment point.
