The past few weeks I've gotten some good deals...

tools1.jpg

Three different Bonney wrenches for $3 dollars total

Small set of misc standard SK sockets $2

Snap On breaker bar $15

Crescent brand adjustable wrench $5

Does anyone know what decade this Bonney box ended wrench would be from? It's 1" and 1 1/16"

I only wish I could find more metric stuff

The Snapon breaker bar is particular is a really good deal! I paid $30 for mine (24" new script); one of my favorite tools!

Its a nice vintage tool, but the new ones are a better alloy that resist bending (like the mid 50's one in the pic is a victim of).

I think those "3 lines" on the handle are the dead giveaway that it is a earlier Snapon vintage tool!

I've got one from the 80's that has seen a lot of abuse.

Oh, the 80's ones are fine, its the 60's and earlier tools that just dont hold to the current standards. You cant really compare it with an 8" long ratchet, but when you get to the longer leveraging tools, you see the older stuff just couldn't take the torque that their more recent tools are known to take incredibly well.

Well, I think $15 is still a good deal, even if it's an older version. Anyway, if it breaks he's going to get a new version in the end.
