Hey everyone. I've been seriously considering a purchase for the new F250 (2011+). I haven't had the opportunity to test drive one yet, but I've been to the dealership on a Sunday and they happened to have a few unlocked. I had the wife with me and the interior changed her opinion on these trucks. I was impressed with the Lariat and King Ranch myself.

Does anyone out there have one of these newer F250s? How are you liking it so far or disliking it so far? Thanks guys/gals.

Funny one of my employees has a need to tow large car trailer and went with the new F-350 "cause the wife loved the King Ranch Interior" only added about 10k to the price ;-)

A am stuck with a 2001 GMC till work gets better but would love a newer truck they all have great offerings right now. Work the dearlers with gas still high the deals have to be there once you leave the bare bone models

I looked recently - and it's been complained about on here some - there are no bare bones models anymore, at least on the lots. You can't find a stripper Ford around here inside a 100 mile circle. They all have some upgrades or packages on them. Try to find one like my F150 - basic cloth seats, bigger 5.4L, tow package, no gee-gaws. Sorry - tow package seems to equal leather seats or buckets lately. That must be what people want, because the dealers have to order stock well before the model year begins. Strippers are all special order and no deals unless you might be a big fleet buyer or a really, really good repeat customer.

I have a 2011 F350 SRW 4X4 6.7. Lariat package, because I wanted interior and exterior colors not available in the King Ranch option. Bought new, now with 39K miles.

400 HP, 800 FT LBS torque. Fuel mileage as high as 20/21 MPG highway (as long as you're not driving with a heavy foot or into a headwind), 18/19 normally, 15/16 city only, 14/15 towing trailers ranging from 10K to 14K LBS. Those are actual numbers I've gotten. Overall MPG for 39K miles mixed highway/city/towing: 17.6 MPG.

So, awesome power, and yet, decent fuel economy, considering the truck weighs 8000 LBS empty. What's not to like?

Only one issue, a few thousand miles ago, with a radiator leak, replaced under warranty.

If you're not going to be using it for towing or heavy hauling, you don't need the diesel. Significant up-front cost, more expensive diesel fuel, and lower-cost maintenance schedules on gas engines have reduced the diesel advantage. But, if you do need the towing and hauling capacity, you'll love it. :D

we just got 3 new service C&C service trucks, with the big gasser motor

even with a "basic" interior they are much nicer than my '06 PSD

we get our trucks "stripped" no PW, DL, cruise ect ect. bench seat, vinyl floor mats.

new trucks still have vinyl floors, but with bucket seats and console, PW & DL.
they even put PDL package on the service body.

I plan on doing some hauling from time to time, but not everyday. I was more interested in the diesel option because of the longevity of the engine. I'm not too concerned about gas because I won't be driving this everyday. I'll be able to supplement with a Honda Accord and with gas prices right now diesel is running in between .05-.10 more a gallon. I've found myself getting into more projects and my 6.5" bed on my F150 fills up pretty quick. Plus I just flat out like the new Super Duty. Lol.

They're amazing. I've driven several of them - all different trims from base XL - to King Ranch (work related). The power is undeniable. This truck could pull down a house! My dad just used one to haul a car trailer from Vancouver BC to LA - couldn't be happier.

That 6.7 is an impressive motor. When it first came out i was reading all the specs and how the engine was setup and i was skeptical on whether it would have many problems because of all the 'firsts' it had. But apparently they havent much problems with them.

I drove a an XLT F250 4x4 crew cab long box with the diesel and loved it. later that day I drove an Slt Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins diesel crew cab long box and loved it. The selling point for the Dodge was the size of the rear doors 5 inches longer than the Ford. I have a son with Cerebral Paulsy and is in a wheelchair. Lifting him in and out of the Dodge was a breeze the Ford was not. Bought the Dodge. Both trucks seened equaly powerfull. Both were priced about the same but the Dodge "deal" was a little better. The Dodge also dosent need Diesel Exaust Fluid.
