Well, i finally bought me a KRA box like i've wanted for a couple years. New job has brought more money which is what allowed me to pull the trigger on the right deal. Came across this on eBay a couple days back, started at £400 and went a long time without bids. I just got off the phone when i remembered about this, caught it was 8 mins to go, stuck in a couple bids and it's mine!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=200237880580

Going to collect it friday night with my mate Tony Blue Van, will get some pics when i drop it off at work late Friday night.

I'm so Freaking happy. I went a year working out of two 22" cantilever boxes, then a couple weeks ago got a cheap 26" top box. Now i have the box i want! So freakin' extatic. Can't wait to give it a quick polish and put my tools in.

Moose is soooo happy.. :D

Looked up the cost, with the exchange rate this would cost me $5,390 new. I'm paying $1,340!

hehehehehehehehe.. :eyecrazy:

Outstanding Moose!

I have the same combo but in model 4114/4107 in red. I got mine used for about the same $$ 6 months ago. You got a great deal too

Mr. MOOSSSSSEEEEE!!! Good job! Nice to have all your tools SECURE for a change; your previous pics with everything out in the wind made me, NERVOUS! I always had a hard time trusting anyone that was in the shop I worked in! Having everything organized and in its place, tools at the ready will make your work go faster; thus make more money! Soon everything will be in its place, you will just pull the drawer to get the tool you need (without thinking about it) and be good to go! Good luck with your new monster box!!!

yes the top box is "lock and roll". roll cab is not. part numbers best to phone 07786593447. these are being sold for my mate john. thanks.

That's going to be a brain teaser having the top box Lock'N'Roll and then the bottom box with regular detents. :D

I do not know what either means. I understand it's a locking method to stop the drawers opening themselves, but exactly what it's like, i don't know.

explain?

The Lock'N'Roll has a plastic latch that catches on a square cutout at the far right front of the inside panel. You grab underneath the drawer pull and slide your hand to the left to open the drawer. It sounds complicated now, but you'll get so used to it, you won't even think about it.

The thing is though, you'll be doing the same thing for the box below that doesn't have Lock'N'Roll. :D

Well, i got it tonight. Tony Blue Van couldn't dump the stuff in his van after doing a house clearance. Got on the blower to my friend Daks, he had his van and was free. But his van is too big to get near the workshop, it'd ground out on the peak of the slope down to the workshop. :(

in the end i rented a van from work, on the basis i returned it that night and washed it ready to go out tomorrow morning.

The guy was great, another VeeDub mechanic and great all-round. Box has a couple small dings and scratches but nothing major. It's perfect. I'm so happy.

Could only get a couple quick phone pics, more on Monday.

It all went pretty smooth. Got it into the VW Transporter van easy enough, and out easy too. the top box i just sat on the floor in the back, put the brakes on the bottom box and looped a tow rope round it and through the handle, tied to a headrest. didn't move at all the whole journey back. (road distance: ~45 miles each way.) Going to clean it up, replace the drawer liners with some self-made ones, put in some wrench racks and such. Nex couple weeks will just be sorting out storage of stuff in there. I'll porbably barely fill the bottom box after the top's full. But give it a few more months and it'll be there.

Eagle mural is coming out, going to be replaced with a colour-matched steel sheet with the Moose-LandTran Diesel Maintenance logo.

Side locker and drawer section in th next couple months, methinks.

I'm a happy Moose. :)

Toolbox looks really good Moose

So, whats the setup look like?

With all your cool tools it'd be a good time to post up how (tools by drawer) you are configuring your box.

Oh, i know! When i got the cheaper top box i bought a couple weks ago it made a HUGE difference, especially since i put it on a cart to move around the shop easily. Within about 3 days i needed more space, but made do with the box and it's served me well. I'll keep it as a road/home box or pass it on to someone who'll use it and look after it. :)

I'm still working on it, and have been for a while. Between work and everything i have very little free time to finish it. To give you a rough idea, it's MOOSE in block capitals, but the middles of the Os is cutout in the shape of antlers. pics soon when the stencil is draw up ready to be cut.

I think i'm going to keep the setup how it is, i like how it looks and i'll see in time how it works. Mabye i'll move one of the medium drawers up to the top, but i'll wait and see. My sockets will live in the top box, and the deep drawer is staying at the bottom. :)

I'm replacing it with a Moose logo, and the eagle will look better in my bedroom!

I'd order the SO PVC liners if it were me; those things are thin and sticky. Fantastic liners.

I'll have to look those up, all drawers will get liners, dividers and wrench racks will also be used though. Socket drawer will be drilled so i can rivet the socket rails in place. I know that makes you cringe, but it'll be measure until i'm 100% confident and drill once. I want it to be perfect, being a perfectionist, so it'll be organised just how i want it.

Oh man, it looks gorgeous, i can't help but smile when i look at it. I took the black strip off the top of the top box and shot it with WD-40 to remove the sticky residue, it's soo shiny. i love it, i really do.

Rough idea of the layout on monday, my tools are in the old boxes in the garage while i do this:

Replacing heater matrix and wiring in a SatNav cable to my dad's Golf this weekend.

When i told the future wife about buying the box she said it was only ok if it was big red and shiny. If it didn't meet that criteria, i couldn't buy it.

She knows what's what in a toolbox, and she knows some about cars too.

I'm gonna marry that girl one day..
