I've been watching these, used one went yesterday on ebay for $150 shipped, but I think some new sellers have been close to $200 shipped. I'm in no rush, don't have a specific use for it either on my cars. Maybe some competition will show up?

There is already competition as "impact" air ratchets have been around for a while. The hammerhead definetly wins in terms of power though.

As far as uses, you'll find plenty. Everywhere an impact wrench was a tight fit or couldnt fit due to obstructions makes the hammerhead invaluable.

There is another problem with the hammerhead I messaged IR on their facebook page.Grease gets in the veins,my Matco tool dealer has seen this problem and a simple cleaning out the grease out of the veins fixes the problem.IR said they are looking into this problem.

It's not real easy for the grease to get into the motor, did this happen to your tool? I can tell you that the design team has not heard of this being a problem so I wouldn't say its a widespread issue. Could be a single ocurrance.

My Matco tool dealer has seen this,sold them to customers and effects the power of them.Cleans the grease out and works fine.Grease is getting in the veins some how.

I have a hammerhead and I can tell you it definitely does not replace an air ratchet. The hammerhead is bulky and doesn't quite have the same kind of control as a ratchet due to the nature of the impact mechanism.

I've had mine about a year or so now and I think it's not that great to be honest. ****** bolts? Forget about it. I just tried to take off some exhaust nuts it refused. I honestly think mine is garbage.

I don't think it's garbage. It's a real time saver when the situation calls for it. Mainly on fasteners that have threadlocker and a gun isn't able to reach.

Yea, mine has been great. Real time saver and much more powerful than the next strongest air ratchet. It has its limitation, but there are plenty of situations where it came in handy. Brake caliper bolts, alternator/power steering bolt, etc.

Garbage? For the full time wrench monkey, especially on flat rate, its worth it for brake jobs alone.
