Grainger comes to mind. Probably not the cheapest place, but trustworthy. Maybe from MSC as well.

I bought and installed this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-...389?pt=BI_Air_Compressors&hash=item2eb843892d about 3 weeks ago. It is made in Taiwan which i trust more then China parts. They also have it in higher pressure ranges and they are adjustable.

Here in a week or two I will have a magnetic starter, then the PS will live the easy life.
I think It is funny that the PS has a sticker that reads "not made in China made in Taiwan"

cMon, you are joking, Right? I'd like a picture of that. I'll blow it up and hang it in the sales window at work.

Just opened up the switch and checked out the contacts (thanks to Bob:p). Still Looks new and I have about a hour on them with about 10 starts. It seems to handle the 22.5 amp motor ok.

thanks for the quick replies. ordered the one from ebay as it looks just like the one i am replacing unloader in the right place and all. if i bump the old one with a screw driver it will start and run but will not kick back on after pressure goes down so if this doesn't fix it the check valve will be next, this unit is over 25 years old so some parts are past due for replacement

Does the unit keep bleeding air after it shuts off? If not, you will be wasting money on a check valve. I think you have it nailed perfectly from what you have stated above.

Hopefully it will hold up for the long haul. The seller has sold 97 of them and he has 100% positive feedback if that means anything. Mine is setup exactly like the factory set it and I am surprised how close to the preset it cutoff and turns on

i agree, It will hiss air from the unloader. Spray some soapy water around the unloader after the comp has shut off. Should be no air bubbles after the initial blow down. I am assuming you have a unloader on the pressure switch, not head unloaders.

I bought that same unit from eBay about 2 years ago. I was hesitant as could be. Mine cuts in at 145 and cuts out at 175. 5 hp motor. No issues. Built pretty solid for the price. The power switch leaves a little to be desired as it is a little loose or slick. There is no resistance feel to it. That's all I could find wrong.
