Don't think I have contributed much to this website. Little project today. Got tired of using store bought tool bags. Seems like I am always digging in a pocket for what I need. Made a new kit for silver soldering. Has what I need in it and nothing more.

The start.

Most the pieces cut out.

Seeing if I remembered how to weld aluminum.

Bit of porosity cause I am lazy. This will work.

Some pieces glued together.

Done.

Not the best welds I have ever done but it will work.

Nice design/execution BUT................

Be careful,it looks like that box might just be a little too fertile.Growing legs and walking off?

I keep meaning to get started on some of these.Have seen similar(albeit not nearly as well designed)boxes sold in Summit and circle track catalogs. They're selling them for hanging on race trailers for oil, lubes, paint and chit.Kinda want a cpl to hang on roll-around toolbxs.....but far more specialized.

Its just my dad and I working together. More and more its just me. Not worried about him taking it, or maybe I should be ha. Everything has a place on the truck, not much goes missing.

Nice piece of kit! Well done. I'm a big fan of 'everything in its place and a place for everything,' and everyone here knows I like aluminum. I can see you are a member of the same club I am, OEA (Over-Engineers Anonymous). That kit will serve you, then your kids, then their kids well.

Miller Syncrowave 250. Bought it in 04 new.

I just use 2% thoriated tungsten ground to a point for aluminum. Also use it for steel as well.

That thing looks like SH!T!!!! Cant believe you'd even want it in your garage. You should just send it to me and I'll take a few years and build you a nice one!

That is a nice little box and put to good use!

May I assume you also have a metal shearer to go along with the Syncrowave? If so, is it stomp or power? If not, how did you make the cuts?

Just a plasma cutter.

Its a Thermal Dynamics 38 I think, Older one. Not near big enough. I still use a torch for a lot of stuff I do.

Here is some belly pans for a kubota tractor I picked up from powdercoat sunday. These are 1/4" and its all that plasma wants to do to cut 1/4.
