Was wondering if anyone else got some good numbers from their dealers. Was talking with my guy today about it and he roughly threw out 4400 on a KRL1022 and 5900 on a KRL1023. Said they were really looking to sell boxes, makes me wonder if could get it knocked down any more.

My SO dealer never throws out deals on toolboxes or tools. I read about deals on this board and I'm amazed at some of the prices SO dealers are selling new boxes for. I don't get it, our old SO dealer who retired was always giving out cash no tax deals on anything and the more you bought the cheaper it always was. He was a SO dealer for over 25yrs......

I have a KRL1023 and Powercab side box on the way, both with stainless tops. My dealer is also giving me a Snappy gift certificate for $675 and a BK5500 video borescope as part of the deal.
I have to give him a totally beatup Waterloo 41" bottom and top box setup and $6750.

$16,000 retail for about $7000. I did okay.

He showed up in the Rock and Rollcab Express truck the day after the Vegas convention so I don't know how much of the deal is from what.

Yea, why I put tool show to kind of segregate from normal deals dealers might throw out for something they might have had a while. Kinda compare and see if there was any wiggle room since he said he could still order but had to let him know soon. On the fence on just finding a used one. But if I could knock some more off the 1023 It'd be the last box i'd ever need for sure. Plus on a truck account would be enticing.

Yea, I'd probably take that deal too! If you don't mind me asking what was he giving you for the waterloo?, wait, nm, by my math skills that looks like 250? Didn't ask what he might give me for my KRA4107.

The theoretical value he gave me for the Waterloo was $1000 but that was greatly inflated I think. The whole quote was full of discount this and discount that so it's hard to say. The way I see it, that box would have a hard time getting more than $300 on CL most likely. That's why I broke down my post the way I did: "I'm giving this, I'm getting that". That's what you really have to look at at the end of it all, regardless of numbers games.

Well I tracked down my local dealer and he apparently did not go to the show in vegas...

here is what he quoted me..

KRL1032 with stainless top : 10,115
KRA2432 with stainless top : 5,389

I mentioned the Las Vegas deals that other dealers were offering and he told me he would get back to me... he said he would look into what "screaming deals" they have on other boxes. I'm kinda blown away at what he wanted to sell them to me for honestly.. haha

What kind of rebates are you using?

Looks like 5940 for the 1023 for me. Said he'd take 10% off if I paid it all up front. Pretty sure i'm going to take him up on it. Plus seemed like I'd get a decent trade. Just have to wait till Nov.

Well. Sensibility kicked in. Instead of the 1023 went with the 1022. I grappled long and hard about it but just be a lot more manageable for me now. Plus has twice the capacity of my KRA4107. Be perfect. Can always upgrade later.

I'm pretty excited though. Be nice not to have everything crammed into my current box. Went with royal blue.

Nice, I've got a royal blue box too. Two days after you get your new box you'll be wishing you had gotten the 1023 :lol_hitti

Haha. Yea. I'm TRYING to slow my tool buying. Hard with such a great Snap On dealer though. So hopefully won't fill it up to fast.

I thought the same thing though about next years show. I'm sure I can find another great deal when I'm ready to upgrade. And keep this one in good shape for a trade. Or hell just keep it and add one :)

I so wish I had gone with a 1022 or 7022 instead of the 722. Great choice!

I think the tool truck brands are becoming desperate to sell boxes. I don't know for sure, but a few of our new techs have the US General stuff and aren't even interested in talking to the truck guys about upgrading, and I don't blame them, their boxes are all holding up just as well as my Classic 78. I have been considering a new box as my tool collection has grown by a decent amount and just the slight mention of a new box and these guys become ravenous, offering deals and trying to one up each other like sharks.

I don't think I have seen a new tool truck box get purchased at my shop in the last year, to year and a half and we have had a lot of new (and failed) techs come through needing boxes.

i looked at us general boxes.

but even the 900 dollar box was not worth it because it was missing features and space of a krl 722.

krl is built really well and have no complaints of the dollar amount spent.
i do like that some of that money went back to american workers.

Talked to my Snap On dealer Friday. Getting a Red KRL1022 for around $4500.00. I think it's a good deal however I don't know if it has the SS top or not. I guess I need to call him.

I'd venture to say no. If so that's a great deal. I might try to get some knocked off a top when mine comes in. It was right around that number too.

My stainless top is "free" because I'm financing (theoretically) through Snappy (will just pay it off 90 day same as cash). You might want to check in on that.

Yeah, when my dealer calls saying the box is in I am going to check into credit. Thanks for the info.
