Never underestimate the power of Junk Deere's marketing department to make people do stoopid things with their money.

Anytime we have something that sells for that much but shouldn't it's because the winning bidder's account was hijacked or their "kid did it."

Damn, I know that JD stuff is popular but that's crazy!!! There has to be something fishy going on.

BTW, I was kicking myself because I saw a similar JD set (10-12 piece?) set a while back for $60 but I didn't have any money on me. When I went back they said it was a mistake and jacked up the price to like $99, which was out of my budget. I thought it was just me so I sent my wife in the next day and they said the same thing. I'm still pissed off at those bastards so I won't go back to that particular pawn shop.

I believe those are Bonney wrenches.

That's fine. You still have your money... they can eat their inventory.

Then again, some dumb ******* will probably pay that just because of the John Deere name....

When did the John Deere name become so famous in pop culture is what I want to know. I see people running around all the time now with JD belt buckles, hats, shirts, license plates, et?. And these are all people that you know have never seen a John Deere tractor, plow, cultivator, sub soiler, etc in person.

Heck I grew up on the farm, and the only John Deere thing you saw besides the actual equipment was the hat the local dealer gave us when we purchased stuff, or when they sent us the annual Christmas "Thank You" package.

Now I see JD stuff EVERYWHERE.

I noticed that the JD marketing machine really kicked into high gear sometime in the 1990s.... or maybe it had always been there and I just wasn't paying attention...

John Deere bidders are just as crazy and Harley and Snap On bidders

That is a set made by Utica - Bonney in the late 70 - early 80's and in good shape go high. Expect this set to be placed as part of a display-parade tractor or pickup all era correct instead of being used.

I have seen the new made in Taiwan ones with some buyers without knowledge of the what was made here or there go over what I can buy new Snap On for off the website.
