Toss 'em and buy yourself some Channellock brand, they don't break.

The Lowes customer service rep on the phone tried to tell me that with them being a year old or so, that that makes the item used/normal wear. I guess we are getting to the point in this country where people selling Chinese junk tools tend to forget that there is anything more in this world than pot metal junk tools that fall apart when you look at them and rust when you breathe on them. Alas, I did not unload on him.
Lowes manager told me that beyond 30 days, item will need to be sent to knipex. Most receipts I have are now bleached white. Anyone had any luck?
if you would have sent the pliers directly to them there would be no drama at all....

I warrantied knipex twice at lowes I just grab the new one and take the old one right to the customer service counter and if they question me I point out the lifetime warranty right on the package. No reciept no hassle. I never had a problem.
I had a wild ride with Knipex a couple years ago, with a broken pliers, which I returned to the distributor. I mentioned it here on GJ and a Knipex representative (apparently the guy who actually inspects the returned tools) lit into me--here, on this forum--gave me guff, sarcasm, implied I was making it all up, etc. He went by the name of tulbox. Soon other people calling for him to apologize, it was a real drama show! Anyway I sent the pliers in (likely to the address mentioned above), the representative who'd been hectoring me apparently received them himself and said, "Yep they're broken," and I got a return pair in the mail. It was the oddest warranty I've ever experienced, what with all the drama, and then after that, a simple replacement. See the link.
Knipex is top of the heap IMO when it comes to pliers, and that's coming from someone who has a LOT of Channelock in my toolbox.
Only if you do not use them.Toss 'em and buy yourself some Channellock brand, they don't break.
They seem to break a lot, not a problem with Channellocks.
