I talked with the awesome folks at RaceDeck and ordered 480 square feet of black/white Diamond RaceDeck today. I will be installing it as soon a it comes in!

A BIG THANK YOU to Jorgen and the entire RaceDeck team for supporting the Garage Journal community!

Here is the space it's going in:

Did u order the regular tile or the TuffShield? Personally I prefer the gloss look and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Tuffshield tiles?

I ordered the regular diamond without Tuffshield the "gloss look" is nice but I wa trying to keep the overall price down.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of the final product. I'm going to be ordering RD soon and need inspiration :)

I will send pics as soon as possible! I'm planning on an install party tomorrow so hopefully you won't have to wait very long.

What style/pattern are you considering? I went with black/white and will be doing 2x2 checkered pattern. Very simple but I think it will go with the garage really nice.

Awesome can't wait to see it finished! I'm strongly considering RaceDeck for the new garage I'm putting together, just sent in a design for a quote today. Much more appealing to me than the epoxy coating I was set on before.

Racedeck sent me a sample of blue Tuffshield (thanks!). Looks more polished. Very shiny. Its been hanging out in my garage; you will have to shine/clean the dust off to make it shine. In more commonly used areas, the shine may scuff off from the top edge of the diamond, but overall still keeps shiny. Good product.

I'll take the plunge (probably regular, not tuffshield) once I have my Gladiator set-up in place.

I'm going a similar route, going to do a 2'x2' based checkered pattern. I changed up the colors a little bit so mix it up a little.

This is the design I'll probably end up with: Design. Ended up being a mix of black/graphite/allow/red.

There were a lot of cool designs on the Racedeck FB page that I went through, some looked really great but would take me too long to put down, some intricate designs there for sure. In the end I figured I can't go wrong with a checkered based design

I'm still not sure on diamond plate or circle track but am leaking toward circle track.

I was originally going to put porcelin tile down but once you figure in the cost of material and labor it's just as much as RaceDeck. And the big selling factor is that I can take the floor with me when I move. You can't say that about Tile, VCT, epoxy, or any other floor treatment. I also know RaceDeck is not going anywhere so I can always order more when I move/expan my garage.

I think anyone will be happy with RD!

That looks sweet I can't wait to see what it looks like for real! I really wanted an extravagant design but sometimes simple ends up being better... So I think :lol_hitti

SWEET BIKES! Am I seeing a flower pattern on the black bike's wheels???

As clean as your garage looks already, that final touch (flooring) will make the greatest difference.

Good luck, and post pictures.

Awesome! Now paint that water softener black! ha.

I actually covered it with a storage cabinet, I still need to paint the walls in there but I've been procrastinating.

I like the slight change to the pattern, did you plan on that or just have extra tiles and decided to switch things up?

I had extra tiles and laid them out ontop of the already installed floor to see what kind of design I could come up with. Once I figured out I had enough tile I began the process of swapping out the white for black tile.
