I've heard good things about these drill bits. COO is China, so for those who are super-diehard Made in USA fans, might not be for you. For us who may not have a ton of coin to throw at a super-legit set, this is for us.

Like I said, I've heard good things about these and our student welding/fabrication shop at my University has this set, which means it gets put through its paces daily by sometimes not the brightest students and they're still holding up incredibly well.

I ordered a set and once it arrives, I'll give my initial impressions.

I have one. Some of the bits were bent. I use them as disposable bits.

I agree w the post above tho, half the made in China bits I get have more runout than a camshaft lobe. And metallurgy can be real iffy - some are durable, some are brittle.

For a hobby shop in a hand drill or drill press, good deal. For use in an actual mill or where accuracy is even remotely important, buy quality bits.

That's pretty accurate-more runout than a camshaft lobe! Some of them had runout equal or greater than the diameter of the bit. I use them in my hand drill and have a nice USA made set for the mill and lathe.

got my set today....about 10 of the smallest bits came out in shipping....

I'm going to need to use a caliper to figure out which one goes into which hole as i cant tell the difference in size by eye. i put them back as close as i can tell, but i wouldnt be surprised if they are in the wrong positions now. lol

I'm also missing 2 tiny bits.

Ordered mine on Monday. Got it yesterday. One little bit was missing, but I found it in the bottom of the case. For 38 dollars, its worth it.

Has anyone chucked some of them up in a drill press to see what the visual runout is? I have some non-Enco china bits and I can visually see the tip of the bit wobbling.

Decided to give the bits a try. Sometimes I need the number bits or letter bits, I only have the fractional sizes. Figure for the price it is worth trying them. Thanks to archirelic for the link.

I have a similar set, many of them are wobbly and ****. I often have to go a size or two down so the hole doesn't come out oversized. Gradually replacing with quality bits.

Got my set, not the best quality but worth the price IMHO for drill sizes ill rarely use. I have good. Norseman (sp) fractional drills already and some Chicago Latrobe but occasionally need an odd size.

As I had previously mentioned, my university has a set of these that have seen some serious use since I've been around and runout is fairly minimal. Not only that, but they've been put through the ringer.

Hopefully this latest batch that we're all receiving isn't the victim of poor metallurgy or what-not.
