Hey everyone. I am moving into my first new house soon and I would like to upgrade from my 110v 30 gallon craftsman to a 220v 60 gallon compressor. Im not sure if I am allowed to post links to products here but its a campell hausfeld from tractor supply for $470. Its a hell of a price if its any good. Even harbor freights 60 gallon compressor is $800. Anyone have any experience with it? Thanks in advance!

The 60 gal HF compressor is a two stage 165 psi unit. It's actually a pretty good compressor. The only issue is it spins fast but so would the CH @ TSC. The HF was a better value back when it was $700 and you could use the 20% off on it though. Now, I don't think as much. Hard to recommend @ $800!

Yeah it looks like a nice quality piece, however this being my first house im trying not to spend a whole bunch of money. Got the first house nervousness ha.

Would one of these belt driven compressors be quieter than my oil less 30 gallon craftsman? It is so loud you just about have to yell to the person next to you.

Yes any oiled compressor will be quieter. Its not nearl as bad as an oilless. I have a 30 gallon oiled craftsman and it isnt too loud in the garage, if im inside the house it sounds like an engine is running.

I recorded my Craftsman pro belt driven model running, roughly 78 db 4-5 feet away.

Belt + oil = pretty quiet (in comparison)

Yes, I swtiched from a 25 gal oilless craftsman to a 60 gal belt driven Sanborn compressor, much quieter. Still loud, but it's a lower tone and isn't nearly as annoying when it runs.

RUN as fast as you can from any OILlLESS compressor!! I had a 60 gallon CH (Craftsman) 6 HP. vertical twin These are loud and it broke connecting rods on me 3 differrent times in 2 years at over 200$ per rebuild. the rebuilds cost more than the original sale price! (bought on sale) at the 3rd set of rods going I junked the entire head assembly and installed a regular 2 cylinder 4 Hp compressor/motor unit from a old 20 gallon CH portable with a bad tank I'm much happier with the conventional belt driven unit it does everything the old unit did quieter checking oil is a small price to pay for having the better service the old used parts have already outlived the "New" compressor and I don't expect I'll have any trouble seiung that I have 3 other versions of the portable here ones over 30 years old a CH (Craftsman) 1 HP 10 gallon my FIL bought back in 71 and it got used for everything here.

wow that stinks...yeah after this compressor never again for an oil less...however i have had this one for 10 years without any problems just too small so it always turns on and its super noisey.

Anyone hear of any problems with the cambell Hausfeld? I cant find too many reviews online.
