Recently the safety people came through our shop and informed us that our belt grinder did not have appropriate guarding. So........ the shop foreman said he was going to scrap it -- that's when I got to take it home, including all the belts we had for it! And wait, yes.... you see correctly, variable speed drive too :)

Anyone recognize the belt grinder? The only marking on it was "AB 1060" and after some Google-fu, I came up with nothing. Also searched through my old timey catalogs and did a Google image search. No dice.

Tonight I took it apart and cleaned off all the crud. Will hopefully sandblast and repaint. Probably a battleship-gray, which is the original color, not the green that it is now.

The exuberance of a deal like that is sufficient to excuse momentary rule infraction.

Big time suckage!

Um, I hate to mention it on a family site, but Ron Jeremy could and did, for $500 a pop on camera. <-- just to set the record straight :)

However, one can lose sight of the finer points of GJ etiquette while jumping around the garage doing the happy dance!

Great score.

What I'm taking from this story is that your shop foreman didn't know that was a safety violation.

Somebody needs to go back to class.
