WOOO WOOOO, BLINGIN' WHEELZ, YO!

How soon until Snap-On fans start bragging about how big their rims are?

Those drawer latches look like the Craftsman Grip-Latch jobs that everyone complained about.

It would be nice if the locking top compartment can hold a laptop and not just the Modis. The drawer latches are alot like Cornwell's as the latch is outside the drawer where Craftsmans is inside the drawer. I wonder how much it costs? 7 inch wheels will make it a little taller. Did it come with ground effects lighting?

I wish I could have seen the drawers. If the box is as gimicky as the freakin video (I am not epiliptic nor can I spell it, however that freakin video about put me in a fit), then I wouldn't be surprised if they offered spinners for the box.

Learn to use correct, lighting in your freaking video. It isn't a (long censored box) rock video.....................:wtf:

Fedwrench is that a new version of the Modis in the video or is it something new and different, it looks like a touch screen tablet pc?

I think I'll stick with my KRL1003. There is a whole bay of tool storage drawers lost for power tool storage, that looks like a very inefficient use of space.

Hey, Deafautotech, maybe they'll sell you bigger rims to upgrade your existing toolbox!

You can be the first mechanic at your shop to be rollin' on dubz!

After watching the video a second time, I think it may be the next Snap on diagnostics platform coming out. I've heard they're coming out with something new called Versus? In the video the tech uses a stylus on the screen so that would rule out a current Modis.

Next question: Is this a box for a "real" mechanic or a "poser"?:)
Coach

I'm not a fan of Snap on boxes but, I would say it's a box for a real modern tech. The idea of dedicated storage for air tools, cordless power tools and their chargers is great. Although others have said it's a waste of space, I think it will actually free up space either on top of the box or on a work bench. I know at work I have chargers attached to two power strips for everything from cordless impact batteries, to streamlight flashlights.
I think the lockable storage area for a diagnostic platform is also a good idea but, it may have some drawbacks. Is the compartment only designed to fit snap on diagnostic platforms or will it hold a laptop? Where does the printer go? You probably won't be able to add a top chest but, maybe a hutch with side lockers. It won't be cheap but, it will sell.

I feel better now that I know that I am not the only one who actually liked that box! I'd have to see one up close before I am sold... but the I like the spirit of the design. :pimpflash

Doesn't really seem to be anything special to me. The drawer latches are better and the power tool charging might be usefull but other than that I could find a cheap used SO and be just as happy.

the epiq box is bigger than our current krl boxes, the power drawer has a power strip inside of it... the top is optional, the scanner in the power top is our new flagship scanner the verus, the space on top where the verus is in, is big enough to hold a laptop, both box and scanner will be released in October...

the latching system is allot stronger than what other manufacturers have offered in the past....

apologies if i revived an old thread

I haven't got my first, old, Snap On box yet but it seems to me they're moving in the direction that the auto industry is moving, all that electrickery.
So, not for me, but good luck to 'em.

we are, but for the most part we are just adding to our catalog and not removing any of the not so hi-tech stuff. Snap-on knows that our new scanner and box is not for everyone

It has some great features . I liked the power tool storage. I wonder if they ever will make a tool box with air ride and power assist drawers?

Okay,
WTH is "Torsion Spring Suspension"? I noticed the large coil springs are gone. Personally I hate it, might as well got to Lowes and get the box with the refrigerator and I-pod hook up.
Although, I regress, I think I like the cordless storage / batt charging area, but can't we outfit a cabinet to do that and leave the box for storing tools? JMO.

Honestly, I have less of a problem with a stereo/Iriver/mp3/ogg player hookup, but a refrigerator?

If you put electricity in a cabinet, why not give it a car alarm type setup? The amount people have in tools, is more then a lot of people have in cars.

I think it's cool because I don"t like wires running all over the place. I don't think I would notice the wheels after awhile:)

wow a lot of you are really bad mouthing this thing. I just got one this morning, traded my krl for it got a great deal. The box is really well built, drawers are really sturdy and strong the power top is excellent and as for the lockable area on top it is ventilated and has plenty of room for a lap-top or scanner maybe even both.. Very well built box and probably my last...

the box now retails for about 13500, i got 6500 for my krl, 500 bucks instant rebate, and 1000 bucks off so i take it of the truck that day lol, so i took it, and im getting the cover for it for free, which will take a while since they didn't even make one yet. I will post pictures as soon as i can, i actually haven't moved my tools into it yet.

hear, hear. It's NOT a rock video, it's supposed to be advertising something that looks as if it might work and be useful, but it doesn't advertise anything except the video director's wonderful skills.

Very nice box! That slide out rack does look like a good idea. It's nice that it has integrated power... Are you using the laptop/modis/whatever box on top, too?
