Atlas or direct lift

Need some feedback on these 2 post lifts. Going to order one next week. Will be for home use mostly cars and my f-250. Im a mechanic by trade most of the lifts i have used are 2post rotory.so after looking at the price of a bendpac and rotory $3000.00 to $5000.00 and then looking at the direct lift & atlas both are under $2000.00. Any feedback from all you would sure help me make a decision.by the way i have 9.5' walls and valuted ceilings so height is not a problem.

A quick search will show everything your looking for. Any of these lifts will get the job done. The determining factor is customer service and support. Most prefer bendpac for the balance of value and support. We have a rep here from bendpac as well that provides support.

I have an Atlas XL-11C.

I have not had any problems with the lift. Heaviest lift F250 4X4 with 300 # bumper/winch no problem lifting.

Have not needed to contact Greg Smith so I don't really know about customer service, but ordering and delivery were easy and fast.

Neither! I wouldn't do it, I bet the money saved would come back to piss you off later, do a few more side jobs and get a brand that will instill confidence when doing a big job on a super duty and your life depends on it. I am saving for a challenger for my home shop , I wrench for a living too so I know money matters but I tend to work on some rusty **** so it requires lots of prying and sledgehammering so I could never order a off brand,the one I want is 4000$!

i have a 9000lbs. atlas 2 post, it works well. when it was delivered, it was scratched up a bit, so greg smith gave me a couple hundred bucks off.
it has had no issues and i lift my superduty with it.

I have an Atlas PF 10 it's a great lift. Very good quality. It beats the pants off the rotary we have a work. It also is much more beefy the my buddies three lifts he has at his repair buisness.

look at Bend Pak. customer service is number one. Quality of there products is second to none.

I have PV10P Atlas 2 post. Heaviest truck so far 3500 crew cab long box Duramax with no problems. Great lift. No problems at all.

I have the Atlas 9k overhead and have had 7,600 lbs on it with no problem. My shop is small, so it limits me from using it with bigger vehicles, but it works great for what I use it for.

I have had it for around 1.5 years now. Zero issues, and was easy to install. My father and I installed it on a Saturday in around 5 hours. I paid $1650.00 delivered to my door (the Greg Smith store is only a few miles away), with a 5 gallon pail of hydro fluid. Its been the best money I have spent in a LONG time.

I bought a Bendpac XPR 10A and I don't believe that I paid much more than what you are looking to spend. I have an '02 2500HD that it lifts effortlessly and I will second that their customer service is phenomenal.

Had my Direct Lift for a few years now and love it. I've had my
Excursion on it many times and has never given me any problems.

Just another pixxing contest thread with no real conclusions

Nobody wrote about the width between columns and pros and cons

Nobody wrote about symetrical or asymetrical and there experiences/thoughts

No ATLAS owners complaining their lift wasnt ALI certified.

Thats the problem with unpaid forums/web sites on the internet, there is
nobody to pull the info together and write a conclusion like in
Consumers Report etc

Go for it Chuck, or else your post is just as useless as everyone elses. I answered the OP's original question to the best of my ability. The other stuff like specs and certifications is something he will have to decide for on his own, based on his needs. Id much rather get normal, unpaid/unsponsored opinions on items that normal folks use, as apposed anything else.

Bottom line is, people who spend the money on Mohawks and Rotary's will say theres is better than those who buy Atlas or Direct Lift. I wont argue either way, however I can say I have never had an issue out of my cheaper non certified lift, as the vast majority who have bought them have said.
