I want to replace my current wired opener button with a lighted one. Only thing is, there's only 5-5.2 VDC at the current button. I'm having a hell of a time finding a lighted button that will work on 5v.
Now, on the back of the opener itself, there are 4 screw terminals labeled: courtesy light, radio power, push button, and 24V.
The voltage across the 24V and push button terminals is 5v, the voltage across the 24v and radio power terminals is 24v, and the voltage across the courtesy light and 24v terminals is 18v. The door will only operate when I jump the 24v and push button terminals.
Pic included to show what i'm talking about.
Is there any way to wire it so I can use a standard, illuminated button?
