Those have been on clearance at Sears for at least a year if not more than that. They either have a lot of them or no one wants them.

I have more than a few of those FACOM punches. I love them... especially since they don't mushroom very easily.

How does the foam hold up? Even if it didn't hold up you would be left with a quality, gripless punch which is fine.

Mine hold up very well. It's not just a foam but also what appear to be some sort of heavy duty plastic coating.

All in all, a well designed tool.:beer:

The covering is some kind of elastomer, probably TPU, it isn't foam and it doesn't absorb oil. Really good tool, well worth seeking out :thumbup:

The worst I can say of any Facom tools I own or have used is that the ratchet screwdriver is no better than Gearwrench's offering, which is hardly a damning criticism.
