I need to re-organize my tool cart and toolbox after buying yet more tools. While doing that I want to put in some nice cork liner to protect both the box and the tools.
Any of you guys worked with cork before? I was wondering if I needed to paint or stain the cork for protection.

I've been using the thin stuff and once it gets past the "set" being rolled up puts on it, it's fine. Laying it out flat in the Sun should help with that set.

Had the cork roll for a while now, but today I finally had the time to line the toolbox with it. Looks nice, now lets see how it will hold over time.

One of my early '60s Snap-on KR61s still has the original cork liners in the drawers and it was used for thirty years by a full-time tech.
