I'm not ready to use LED's to light the interior of my garage. Four foot fluorescent shop lights are far too cheap for LED's to compete. The thing LED's seem perfect for that I'm unable to find is a LED yard light that runs on low voltage. I don't mean the little landscape lights. I want something that mounts high on a wall, pole or tree that is serves the purpose approaching that of a 300watt halogen flood light or a 175 watt mercury vapor. I saw some LED flood lights but they were 120vac. There should be a 12v one. LED's are inherently low voltage devices. I want to put it in a tree. It's a lot easier to properly run 12v up a tree than it it 120vac.
There are inexpensive fluorescent flood lights. I had a 65 watt CFL improvised up a tree, temporarily, with an extension core. I was think of using a couple step down, step up transformers to make a low voltage supply for this 65watt FL or maybe get a 27 watt. But there should be a LED solution.
