task force screwdriver from lowes: USA?

i was in lowes today and i needed a beater flat blade screwdriver... and noticed the cheap bulk 88 cent screwdrivers (task force) are supposedly made in the USA.... is this true lol?

Not sure about COO, but I got a cheapo set for christmas a couple years ago. I gotta say I like the little multi tip screwdriver. I've used it for a ton of stuff in the house and camper and haven't messed it up yet.

i know my cheapie 40 piece husky ones from Home depot are like 85% us made (a couple pieces are not US made, everything else is)

I saw the same screwdrivers at Lowes today and it doesn't say "made in usa" anywhere on the screwdriver, same thing with their Kobalt screwdrivers that are supposedly USA made.

the task force ones just have a sticker that says Made in USA.

I have some old Task Force nut drivers that I bought from Lowes years ago. They are stamped Made in USA right on the handle. I only have the SAE versions, wish I would have bought the metric when they were still available.

Back in the day, the Task Force brand wasn't what it is now. They were originally decent quality tools not much different from Kobalt. I think Lowes dumbed down both brands and made Task Force the entry level tool to compete with HF.

Kobalt screwdrivers I've seen say on the tag they are made by Great Neck overseas.
