They look pretty nice! looks like you can use both sides of the ratcheting end unlike the gear wrench set i have as well.

I hope that somebody besides Grainger or MSC will have them at a good price! Maybe Zoro will have them.

I bought a 7/8" to try from MSC thru my work. It is very nice and no cap stop on the box end like the gear wrench. I will try to get some pics in a day or two. I have to borrow a camera.

$425 for the 7/32-1½" set (in black) from the local Proto joint here. I'm seriously considering wiping out what is left of this year's tool allowance on them.

One thing that would hold me back is they appear to have the "universal" head for the ratcheting portion. Not sure I like dat.

Someone can correct me if i'm wrong but all the black chrome wrenches are Taiwan. These appear new and based on a Facom 440 wrench beam and will only be available in chrome. I cannot find any of these new sets online, just the black taiwan ones, and since the model numbers are really only differentiated by an "A" at the end i'm guessing thats what you found too. It would be great if this is true and perhaps will stop some Stanley bashing.

I was able to find single wrenches online at MSC but not the sets.
I just ordered some CM industrial sets from Sears outlet because the black Proto are Tawian. I may be returning them to get the new Protos.

The flyer I picked up the other day shows 7/32"-1½" for the big set.

Also they are shown as black oxide, not that goofy black chrome. Definitely the same beam design though.

I'll cruise by there tomorrow and see if they've got any in stock and check it out.

Id believe the COO when I saw it, considering stanley/mac's recent track record. They do look nice, I have a lot of old proto which is nice but nothing modern.

Most Proto is USA sourced. I think they are smart enough to keep as much production as humanly possible here, especially for the growing number of jobs with the "USA ONLY!!" tool policies.

Where Mac (marketed toward automotive) and Stanley (marketed toward homeowners/hobbyists) aren't going to be hurt too much by this policy, Proto effectively dominates the industrial and construction markets, and probably wants to stay that way.

Ah, good point, I havent bought a new proto tool ever, all that I own (which is a bit) is all US made but old. Ive been on a serious "**** buying new tools" kick lately, especially since my snap on dealer screwed me.

I still cant find anyone selling the sets yet. Just singles at MSC.
It is interesting that the new full polish USA made wrenches cost less than the Taiwan made black wrenches.
That would be a good trend for USA made tools to sell for a lower price than imported.
