... and I could have bought quite a few Craftsman "Forged in the USA" tools. Lot of individual combo wrenches. I really didn't check the individual sockets too closely because I left my reading glasses in the truck. I think a lot of the packaged sets were not US. Couldn't see that seal on the packaging that I could on other labels.

So, I guess if you're missing that one RP combo wrench, there are some new stock still hanging.

Sorry for the hijack -- I know OSH is a store you have out there, but I can't read "OSH" without picturing this:

All Craftsman raised panel wrenches and all the Craftsman chrome sockets are still USA made. So, you should be able to get those at pretty much any Sears.

Many more Craftsman tools are still USA made than some members here believe.

Nope not any more...there are more and more pics surfacing with Chinese RP wrenches.

Check the date of the post you quoted. It was before anyone had ever shown any evidence here of Chinese RP wrenches.

Note the date of the first post in the thread you linked to, it was after my comment above. Those pics were posted a few days after the post you quoted. Until then, a couple people had claimed to have seen them, but didn't provide any proof.

I actually made a thread after the rumors started and no one provided any pics or other proof. It turned out one of the members was correct about them, but he didn't post any pics, so we had nothing to go on. When the rumors first started, my store got a bunch of fresh USA made wrenches, including the small sets that people said were Chinese, but the ones at my store were still USA made.

Moral of the story: if you think you've seen an interesting tool development, like Craftsman RP wrenches becoming Chinese, snap some pictures with your phone to show people some proof.

When the ratchet in my avatar broke I couldn't find a replacement at any of the Sears stores and I found a NOS USA one on the shelf behind some chinese ones at OSH. They swapped it without a problem.
