I am in need of some strapping material (something about like seatbelt should work fine although a little skinner would be fine as well.). I have some flexible ductwork in my attic and whoever put it up there didn't use enough strapping so it has some pretty good angles in it and I'm afraid its not getting enough support (the home inspector pointed this out to me). I'm looking for a local resource that won't break the bank. I've check the big box stores like HD and Lowes but haven't been able to find any (of course I could have been looking in the wrong part of hte store). I'm thinking about 20 ft or so. I'm in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex so I should have access to just about any store.

How about seat belts from the local pull a part yard? With a sharp knife and a single 12 passenger van, I could see the whole thing taking less than 30 minutes.

Go get some 2" x 20' ratchet tie-downs at Harbor Freight and throw the ratchets away.

I"ve done this a few times. When I was a kid I remember my grandparents had a box in the garage of lawn chair webbing for fixing lawnchairs. I needed something similar for a project and couldn't find anything so went to HF with a coupon and bought some ratchet straps and just cut them up.

Why not just buy a roll of the metal strapping that has the entire length full of holes. Any box store should have it.

Nylon flexible strapping material is available in different widths at your local fabric supply store (Jo-Anns being one example). You can buy it by the foot or yard and frequently find it on sale. Jo-Ann's often have 40% off coupons that can be applied.
