Trying to plan an upgrade to my box before too much longer. Looking at the 56" size. This summer I stopped in at Extreme Tools outside of Chicago and got a quick hands on of the Extreme Tools boxes. I was impressed. Their professional series is crazy nice but they are a little much for my use and the 30" depth takes up too much room. I'm leaning heavily towards Extreme 56" combo at the moment.

Curious if anyone has recently purchased one here and could provide their opinion?

Also, I see on sticklytoolboxes there are a few other boxes that appear almost identical. Any other brands that are better value? I love the Snap-On boxes but that's just too much for hobby use. Just wanting a nice, solid, well built box with ample space.

I've outgrown my Craftsman and they just don't offer many good larger sizes any longer.

Thanks!

I need a bigger box bad. I wish their was a cheaper alternative for a 24" deep box than snap on lista and macto

Not really picky on a brand I'd just like a 56" wide 24" deep box sub 2k

My vote is a used matco 4s. The newer version. They are super stout

I'd love to have a 4s with a hutch. I dont work on car for a living though so I have to find a deal I can't pass up to justify spending that kinda money.

I can't even justify a hutch. They are so damned expensive for what you get out of them

In a shop environment i would make it a requirement for my box. hang my air tools in it and chargers for batteries and cordless tools on top. It would free up drawer space.

I concur with the Kennedy boxes. I have 2....or 3. Nice stuff. A bit hard to find (all mine came from the flea market).

I understand what you want. A guy at work has the 41" Extreme combo and I think it's a really solid chest set. I agree - I think I'd like to go for the Extreme EX 5621. It looks really good.
