Here is a few pictures of my home shop:

More pictures to follow as I get things setup. I just had the 20' container delivered and I had some cement poured.

Pls post pics of the inside too.

I sure will... I probably should have waited, but I'm excited to get this project moving. I've had my 16x20 shop for a couple of years now and it was full to the brim. I can't believe how much I moved to the container and my shop is still pretty full. I'll take some progress pictures tomorrow.

Nice! What does a container like that cost? Seems like a good way to get around building codes, etc. As long as you can keep it cool ;)

They are all over the place price wise. I wanted one that was AA grade and freshly painted. I paid $1800 which seems to be the going rate around here. I'm going to add an industrial fan and just run it on an extension cord for now.

What are your plans for supplying power to it?

Are you going to add windows OR A/C to keep the inside temps reasonable?

I'm not really sure yet. :headscrat I want to keep it as wind and water tight as possible. I already have my other shop which has fans and venting and I'm pretty comfortable there. I'm sure I'll tire of it being so hot when I'm out there working... :D

How do you like that Seville Ultra HD top chest you have? I've got someone I know looking to let go of one in great condition for pretty cheap...just wasn't sure about it's overall quality/function??

I'm very happy with the quality so far. I keep most of my drill accessories in there so I don't overload it too much. Overall I would recommend it.

Thanks luvit! I've really been trying to make the best use of the space that I have. I'm changing things all the times.

Thanks Jeff!

Man I scored!! I got this steel table from the scrap yard for $20. I had a buddy weld some angle iron that I had laying around and I added some trex decking material to make a nice little shelf. I gave it a quick little paint job and she is ready to go.

Man I need to learn how to weld! :dunno:

Just get a welder, a book, welding helmet and start doing it. Or take a class at a tech school (the way I did) and you'll be good to blow holes through anything. It is just like anything, PRACTICE. I'm a girl, if I can learn you can too.....just practice.

Nice shop BTW!

Thanks! I know, just one of those things I've never got around to learning. I am going to get a book so I can learn some of the basics and study up on the safety part of things.

hey, man.
i found these cool videos.. they are meant for arc welding, but i bet many of the principals are similar. perhaps you can see real action of the weld's puddle in the video.

hopefully you'll find the actual welding and penetration information useful in these videos.

i got this welder.. and so i studied for awhile while i was determining how to lug this old heavy welder around.
