Many retailers kick off their online sales on Thanksgiving:

Home Depot: ? Thurs
Lowes: 12am Thurs
Sears: 8pm Wed., doorbuster start times vary after that

Know what you want to buy ahead of time. Open up a text file on your computer and enter in direct product links or model numbers as soon as you can, or use BF deal listings (such as the ones I made for ToolGuyd) so that you don't have to search on retailers' high-traffic-slowed sites.

Coupons: SEARS2012 and BFHD2012 (Home Depot) are good for $5 off $50+.

Free Shipping: $49+ at Sears, $45+ at Home Depot with some exceptions. Lowes $19+ start date is unclear.

In-store pickup is not guaranteed.

I didn't see much at Lowe's but I did want the alum. step thingy. Wife found a promo code too and dropped the price another 10%

That aluminum step is great for working under the hood of fullsize trucks. It is very stable and allows you to reach the back of the engine bay easily. It is a steal for $17.00. I paid $40 from home depot over the summer.

I have 2 of those werner platforms. You wont be disappointed. They're great for benches to sit around the fire, a nice platform to reach the ceiling while standing flat footed And having room to move around without stretching, a nice table to set stuff on while working outside of the garage. The list goes on and on. I think I paid $20 each last black friday from Home depot

Those platforms are a strong seller every year. Always funny to see them stacked up in the middle of the store by registers. Strange that not a lot of step ladders on sale this year.

With BF sales starting Wed. night this year, I wonder what will happen next year.

sears is discounting some of their garage cabinets quite nicely.

i'm waiting until tomorrow to see if homie depot will do likewise, otherwise, i'm seeing some craftsman cabinets in my near future...

It's only good for like $1.60 off anyway. It's still a good deal at $17.

I wanted it for installing roof racks at work mostly

FYI I talked to the Sears manager at the store near my home in California. She said they were not going to have supper sales. Their sales are less off every year. I went through everything they had out in the boxes for specials an there was not one good deal in the lot. Don't drive 40 miles because you will not get back the cost of gas. Sears prices are way up and the discounts are nothing. Their cabinets are so over priced that even if they were 50% off I would not touch them. Just me thoughts.

The Sears 26 piece wrench set deal for 37.49 is a sham. I went tonight and thought I struck gold when I got a full set of metric and standard wrenches that were Made in USA. Got to the register and they weren't on sale. Only the SKU with Chinese COO are on sale. I wasn't shocked that it was the Chinese wrenches that were on sale but I WAS shocked that they differentiated between foreign and domestic made versions when they sell both year round at the higher price.

Seems like a double standard to me.

Yup! Unfortunately that's one of the few in-store-only doorbuster deals. SKU is 406294.

Are you sure you had the same exact set? Products with the same model numbers should have the same SKUs and bar codes.

I feel bad for the mailman. I bought a HF 3 ton floor jack (75 lbs) on sale with $6.99 shipping. I bet they just back up into my drivewayand kick it off the back of the truck - lol. I was surprised HF would ship something that heavy under their flat rate deal.

I am 100% positive. I compared the SKU's side by side. Metric and standard product codes are different.
