Why do I keep on do this. I met a friend for breakfast this morning and afterwards we went to his father's shop. Said he would give me first shot at some stuff they have for sale. I felt obliged to buy something. So I bought this heavy duty file cabinet. $10. When I got it home I noticed it was the same depth as my other file cabinet and 1/2" shorter. So my mind said add a ring of 1/2" square tubing at the bottom and make the tops even. Then I noticed the both file cabinets are the same depth as my tall Lista cabinet and, with the new ring, 1 3/4" shorter. So, an angle iron footing with adjusting feet would bring both cabinets up to the same lever and give me a uniform surface that I could cover with a cut-to-fit stainless steel top seemed to be a natural. So now, just for helping out a friend, I have to purchase two lengths of steel, do some fabricating, pay to have another file cabinet powder coated, and scour up a sheet of stainless. Where would we be without friends? Done!
