No hope at all of the majority being able to, or feeling as though we must, purchase only things made entirely within the USA. It started with my ford truck from Canada, then john deere tractors with their yanmar diesels from Asia. Even what you think is American made is often not. I have paid more for high quality items made in the USA like my Peavy or kitchenaid mixer but the option is not commonly available if you are honest with yourself.

Look inside your Modine and see if the motors and circuit boards are also made in USA. There are several levels of "made in USA" and this can be discouraging if you really want something entirely made here starting with raw materials.

Seriously? Get with the times. Those of us young enough to use internet forums are mostly over that. I mean, just who do you think made the computer you're typing on? Sorry for the politics but you sorta asked.

sorry I too try to do whatever I can to Buy American when possible to do so... often doing so even if that means buying used goods.

I get so sick of people saying "that computer you're typing on isn't made in the USA" Jesus Christ people, there are some things that just aren't made here and that's ok, but what is wrong with people wanting to buy USA made stuff if/when it is available? It's not like any of the people who seek out USA made products are demanding everything be made in the USA. It's people like this who are to thank for the current unemployment rate. :twak:

Yeah, I would say that on this forum, there are plenty of folks who try to buy USA-made goods whenever possible. I'm one of them.

I'm looking at electric heaters for my garage right now. I have found some that are made here. They will get the nod over the imports.

I too search and research for what I need long before I will buy **** from China. I try to find everything made here and even buy it used( tools, equipment, etc). All off my clothing, boots are made here with American materials. If not made here I will look at Germany for tools. Will pay more but you get what you pay for. And yes I will buy from Japan long before I buy from China.

I'm very happy with my Modine Hot Dawg. I bought it over the Mr. Heater because I was familiar with their products and because it is made in the USA.

I'll spend time saying 'made in china? Ok, no thanks' and keep looking.
Just gotta do it...
It's really frustrating when people here sometimes have NO choice but to buy some things from Communist child exploiting China.

I was told by a rep that the marley fahrenheat heaters are made in the USA.

On the Northern Tool website, they do indicate that the Fahrenheat heaters, at least the 240v 5-7500 Watt units are made in USA.

You can thank our tax structure in the US and the takers now outnumbering the givers for the current unemployment rate, but I see your point and don't disagree with it.
